Since I was a bit late most of the compartments were already full of kids. About halfway through the train I found a nervous-looking boy sitting alone in a compartment.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked.

"Oh, no. You can sit."

He pointed to the seat across from him.

"Thanks, I don't really know anyone yet."

"Muggle-born?"

"Yep."

"Me too. All the knowledge I have is from the books."

"Me too, I re-read all of them this summer."

"I brought them with me."

"Me too." I laughed and opened my backpack to show him the 7 Harry Potter books I crammed into my backpack.

"Hi! Can I sit here?"

A small girl, no taller than 4'7, asked enthusiastically.

"Yeah, go ahead"

I answered.

"Thanks!"

She said as she sat beside me.

"I'm Emilia Smith, but you can call me Emmie."

She told us.

"I'm Kacey Taylor. Well, my name is Kacelah but I go by Kacey."

I responded.

"I'm Leo."

The nervous-looking boy said.

"Leo....."

Emmie said.

"Anderson, Leo Anderson."

"The train is moving!"

Leo said.

I moved to the window and tried to find my mom in the cloud of parents waving their children goodbye. She was in front a little to my right. I waved and she did a texting motion. That signals my phone.

I opened my backpack and took my phone out of it.

"Is that muggle technology?"

Emmie asked curiously while looking at the phone on my hand.

"Yeah, it's a phone. You can use it to call people, play games, text and such."

"Can I see?"

"Sure."

I handed her my phone and she clicked on the screen and watched as it lit up and went dark again, and again, and again.

"It doesn't really do anything, does it?'

She said as the screen went dark once more.

"You need to unlock it first."

Leo said.

"Is there a key then?"

"No, you need a password."

"What's the password?"

"2009."

I said.

"two thousand and nine!"

Emmie yelled at the phone.

"Wizards and witches don't have phones?"

I asked her.

"Some do, but I live in a cottage with my family and father doesn't let us have phones. He says we should enjoy the outdoors and play while we can."

"That's nice."

I tell her.

"Here."

She says while handing me my phone.

"Thanks."

"You're not from around here, are you?"

"No, I'm from America. Me and my mom moved here a few years ago."

"Fun."

Leo said.

Leo and Emmie kept talking but I checked my phone for the message my mom sent me.

'Have a nice term!'

I looked out the window but the station was long gone.

'Thanks!'

I texted back.

"Kacey."

Leo said as he gently shook my arm.

"Yes?"

"Emmie asked you what house you are hoping to be sorted into."

"I'm not sure, any of them is fine. Getting to go to Hogwarts is enough."

I laughed when I said the last bit because I still couldn't believe what I was saying.

Leo chuckled.

"Yes, me too."

He said.

"Well I'm hoping to be sorted into Hufflepuff. You see, both my parents were Hufflepuffs and they are amazing people."

Emmie said.

"I want to be just like them."

She added.
