The group of kinda friends sat in uncomfortable silence until Matt calmed down slightly. Bucky and Tony felt awkward as they witnessed a very intimate moment but both refused to let Lizzy out of their sights. Especially with a man who claims to be a ruthless and brutal vigilante known for beating criminals into comas.

Lizzy stayed in the same position running her fingers through Matt’s hair as she rested her cheek on top of his head. Her eyes stayed closed while she tried her best to calm him down. Her other arm wrapped around his shoulders letting her fingers trace designs across his back. His arms wrapped tight around her waist refusing to let her go. His embrace was almost tight enough to hurt but she paid no mind.

It wasn’t until his sobs turned to hiccups that she lifted her head. Instead she placed a small kiss to the top of his floppy hair.

Matt sniffed and rubbed his nose like a child as he sat back still gripping her shirt. His face blotchy and eyes red with his sightless eyes pointed at the floor beside them. She placed her hands on the sides of his face and used her thumbs to wipe his tears. His lips turned into a shaking pout as he tried to collect himself. When he failed he went limp and fell into her embrace again. She held him as tight as possible knowing that he loves to be held. A real cuddler.

He clamped his eyes shut and nuzzled his face into her collarbone still gripping her shirt hard enough to almost tear the fabric beneath his fingertips

He clamped his eyes shut and nuzzled his face into her collarbone still gripping her shirt hard enough to almost tear the fabric beneath his fingertips. He curled as much into a ball as he could in the uncomfortable chair and tight suit. The tears flowing from his eyes slowly came to a standstill as exhaustion washed over him. He felt like a child being held by a loved one. He felt safe.

The moment was broken by the ding of the elevator door opening. The two huddled on the couch stiffened but Matt relaxed again as he realized who just arrived. A smile spread across Tony’s face.

“What’s up Underoos?” He asked the highschooler that dug through his backpack for something as he walked out of the elevator.

“Mr. Stark!” Peter’s voice high pitched in excitement. His attention went from rummaging through his backpack to glancing at the older man. “Oh hello Mr. Barnes! How are you?” Despite asking he kept on rambling without letting Bucky answer. “You’ll never guess what happened today!”

“What happened, kid?” Tony asked Peter before he started talking again. Finding what he needed he ripped out a wrinkled and torn essay paper from a pocket in his backpack and showed it to his mentor.

“First of all I got an A on my english assignment, which, yay! Second, Ned got this awesome new lego set that came out last week! It’s insane,” his talking abruptly stopped when he noticed the two people huddled together on the couch. “Who are they? Am I interrupting something? If so, I’m really sorry. I should have knocked.”

“Calm down kid, please. I think you should sit before I introduce you again.” Tony sat up straighter to look at the teenager when he took a careful seat on the comfortable armchair.
