Aaliyah fixed the last of the dinner preparations, slipping her apron off. She made her way upstairs to get herself ready, finally looking like a decent person after a whole week of moping around like a depressed teenager. She gave herself a look in the mirror, blowing an air kiss at her reflection before going to 'invite' everyone downstairs for dinner.
She started at Richard and Aleesha's room to find them cuddling with Aaliyah watching cartoons, next stop was Christopher and Kat were she found them gaming and yelled at them to get ready. Joel and Kendall weren't home so Ray and Erick were her last stop. She knocked on the door and heard a thud before some rustling and the door opened to find Ray wrapped in their duvet
"Hey" she drew out brushing her hair out of her face with her hands "Whatchu doing" Aaliyah smiled "Oh you're in a good mood" Ray said trying to make conversation "Yup, anyways i wanted to invite you and Erick downstairs for dinner in formal wear please" Aaliyah informed them "Cool" Ray smiled giving the thumbs up "You better be using a condom" Aaliyah yelled "A condom for bible study?" Ray questioned "That isn't what you're doing and you and I know that" Aaliyah let her know before hopping downstairs
Aaliyah laid out a tablecloth on the table, lit a good 2 candelabras on the tables making sure to seat Christopher far away from the fire. She had dished up when everyone finally made their way downstairs, Ray and Erick being the last 2 coming down giggling like thick thieves.
"I can't believe i had to wear pants for this" Christopher huffed "Thank god for that, we're tired of seeing your tired ass Fortnite underwear" Kat said "Yeah my baby carrots don't need to see that tonight" Ray said taking her fork to stab the carrot only to be stopped by Aaliyah "Our honorary guest isn't here" She said swatting the fork out of Ray's hand "Uhh are we waiting for Joel and Kendall? cause they're not coming home" Richard said "not them" Aaliyah said brushing the comment off
The sound of keys jiggling caught everyone's attention as they averted their eyes to the door. In walked Zabdiel, face hadn't changed. He dropped the bag of food on the kitchen counter moving to go upstairs only to have Aaliyah grab his wrist
"Have dinner with us please" Aaliyah asked "Already ate" Zabdiel said shrugging her hand off him "Okay that's fine at least hear me out" Aaliyah said running to the table to grab a small box from under her chair. Zabdiel's eyes went wide at the sight of the box he had long forgotten about
She ran up to Zabdiel, taking a deep breath before beginning
"When i met you i didn't think i'd fall in love with you as quickly as i did, I had my reservations and you opened your arms and accepted them without second guessing or asking why and that- that's why I fell in love with you Zabdiel De Jesús. Aside from you being kind, loving, beautiful, the list honestly goes on when it comes to you. I've been selfish in realising what i have in front of me, you have me a beautiful family and didn't leave me. You always put me first. I want to be able to calm you down before shows, hype you up and most of all call you mine forever. So Zabdiel" Aaliyah got onto her knee "Will you do me the honour of being my husband?"
Zabdiel stood shocked, his eyes welled up with tears once more but this time it wasn't for the wrong reason. He brought Aaliyah up, picking her up and laying his lips on hers but not before whispering a yes to her proposal earning a cheer from everyone behind them.
"Plot twist of the century!" Ray yelled clapping for them "How did you- "I heard you when you were speaking to your mom the other day and i felt so bad for being such a rat to you i wanted to make up for it and tell you that i'm ready" Aaliyah explained "Can we eat now?" Christopher asked earning an elbow to the rib from Ray "It's the year of the ladies!" Aleesha cheered running up to Aaliyah once Zabdiel put her down "I'm so proud of you!" Ray smiled at her best friend "Thank you" Aaliyah beamed
She turned and slipped the ring on Zabdiel's finger, leaning up to kiss him one more time before the boys started squealing like girls and gathering around Zabdiel to see his ring.
"You are such girls" Kat laughed "Hey that's what you guys did" Christopher justified "It's the getting engaged in the same year for me" Aleesha smiled flashing her ring making the girls do the same "It's the expensive rings for me" Ray smiled polishing hers "So are we going to eat or what?" Christopher whined "Jesus Christ Chris eat" Aaliyah laughed
