Chapter 6

ELEENA'S POV

4 months have passed since I came to this world. I already started my lessons 2 months ago. Nakakapanghina, tinuturuan nila ako tungkol sa pagiging Empress at mga etiquettes, mannerism, magic, and etc. And here I am, outside the palace practicing my magic together with Leo. I'm making a barrier that is much stronger than before. Noon maliit lang na mana nagamit ni Leo para basagin yung barrier ko, It's too weak.

"Focus, Eleena" sabi ni Leo. I take a deep breath and focus at ilang sigundo ay nakagawa ako ng barrier. I hope it improve, I don't want to disappoint him for all those months of teaching.

"Hmm...looking better" sabi niya habang nakatingin sa barrier na ikinangiti ko.

"Now let's test it" gumawa ng malakihang fireball compare noon.I hope it won't break this time. He hit the barrier using the fireball. I immediately covered my face with my arms when all the smoke went everywhere. Leo stand infront of me and made a barrier for us. Agad akong tumingin sa harapan para makita kung nabasag ba ito.

And to my surprise the barrier is still there!

"We did it, Leo!" tili ko habang hinawakan ang kamay niya at napatalon sa saya.

"No, you did it, Eleena"

"No, if it wasn't for you. I would never improve like this" ngiting sabi ko. This is the first time I felt being proud of myself.  Nag puyat talaga ako nang ilang araw dahil sa pambihirang barrier nato. Inaya ako ni Leo na umupo at mag panhinga.

"Madali kang matuto, Eleena. Pati mga ibang guro mo ay namangha sayo" sabi niya at napatawa nalang ako. Buti naman worth it yung mga puyat ko. Hayst... parang gusto kong magbakasyon pero hindi pwede.

"You can have this, Leo. Pasasalamat ko sayo" inabot sa kanya ang isang box ng shortcake cookies.

"This is your favorite. right? I can't accept this, and I'm not fond pf sweets" 

"Then, you can share this with your girlfriend" sabi ko at inabot sakanya. Tinanggap naman niya at nilagay sa gilid.

"Eleena, I have to tell you something. Please, take care of your body. I can feel massive mana on your body" alalang sabi niya na ikinataka ko. Paano ako magkaroon ng mana na ganyan e barrier pa ngalang eh mahina na?

"Don't joke like that, Leo" tawang sabi ko. Nakita kong biglang sumeryoso ang mukha niya kaya agad akong tumigil sa pagtawa.

"I'm serious here, Eleena. Mag iingat ka, hindi ako nakikipag biruan sayo. Nararamdaman ko na dahan dahan itong lumalabas. In several months you'll withstand me."

"That's why don't use the remaining mana that sleeps inside you" sabi niya na ikinataka ko.

"Bakit?" I can see his face looks worried.

"Baka hindi mo makaya, and there is a possibility you might die" 

What? Die? Me?

"Then how can you unleash that mana, Leo? Para maiwasan kong gamitin" tanong ko sa kanya pero parang nag dadalawang isip pa ito kung sasabihin niya ba sakin o hindi. Nagbuntong hininga nalang siya.

"The only way is to bleed yourself, cut your body in purpose on your hands and..." he slowly lift the cloth on his shoulder and saw a scar. It was a big scar...

"When did this happen?" Leo has a superior talent in magic. Kahit peklat ay hindi makakawala sa kanya. How come he didn't get rid of that?

"It happened when our carriage got ambush by the mountain bandits. I'm with Caspian at that time. Caspian is still weak at those times, at ang mana ko ay hindi sapat para protektahan siya. That's when I use my remaining mana. I almost died that time, but good thing I survived" sabi niya at tumawa na ikinangiwi ko. May gana pa siyang tumawa. Now I know why that Emperor and Leo seemed close to each other.
