2 WEEKS LATER
It's been about two weeks since the team dinner at Spencer's apartment and it's now the second week of October and only a few days away from your birthday. Spencer had been busy with work and had back to back cases since the dinner, and he was praying he was home for your birthday. He asked you every single day what you wanted to do for your birthday and every day you told him nothing. You weren't big on birthdays because your family never did anything. You were walking around Spencer favorite book shop again and he said
"Come on babe what do you want to do for your birthday. It's a few days away and I want it to be special"
"Spence, nothing. I told you my family never made it some big deal."
"Well I'm making it a big deal. Come on...dinner, movie, other things" he smirked and you pushed his shoulder.
"I will allow you to take me to dinner I guess. Now pick your books out nerd" you said laughing
You hated that Spencer was trying to make your birthday a big deal, but at the same time you loved it. He always treated you like a queen. You smiled at watching him be so invested in the books he was looking at because anything he did made you feel so happy.
His phone rang and he pulled it out of his pocket. He sighed and answered the phone
"Hey Garcia, what's up" he said giving you a sad smile. You heart sank because you figured he had to leave which meant he'd be gone for your birthday. "Y/N is with me right now, can she stop in with me?" Well at least that meant no case as of now "Great! We'll see you in a few" he said hanging up
"Everything okay?" You asked
"Um yeah, Hotch said he needs me to come in for something"
"And I can come with you?" You asked confused "But it's work?"
"Garcia said you were more than welcome to come. Let's go so I can buy these and get down there" he said grabbing your hand.
You were so confused because usually when he just had to do paperwork or grab something he never invited you. He always dropped you off at his apartment and went alone, so why were you going now?
You head to his car and start towards the BAU head quarters. Spencer's phone was blowing up nonstop
"Geez...someone's popular today Dr Reid" you said curiously
"Just Garcia filling me in on some stuff I'll need when I get there" he smiled
Okay this was really weird...what is going on?
You get to the BAU and Spencer hops out waiting for you at the front of the car. He grabs your hand and pulls you close to him kissing you on the temple as you walk. You walked into the building and stopped at the front desk so you could get a visitors pass
"Afternoon Dr Reid" the lady said "Is this Y/N? The one you're always bragging about" she smiled
"The one and only" he said
"Hi, I'm Amanda! Nice to meet you!" She said to you
"Y/N, which apparently you already know" you laughed taking the pass from her
"Have fuuuun" she said in a weird tone
Something definitely was going on. You walked to the elevator with Spencer who seemed anxious
