Chapter 8

Zero's POV

I was approaching skylar when she threw a right hook at the girl without any sympathy

I just shook my head at her even though she wasn't looking at me

We fight people at our level not weaker and she's always done this to get more privileges more like special treatment

she dusted off her hands while smirking at me devilishly

"What a surprise Zero I thought you like the blood of your victory in that hell hole" skylar snapped at me furiously

"Yes I do like my victories" I mumbled coldly, she smiled sickly "I'm not doing anything wrong just messing around so don't worry" her voice was calm and relaxed

"You always went for weaker people" I said looking her in the eyes she growled at me I stood there not understanding her because it was true

"I do not! I was one of the best fighters in that place" she stood tall and proud with a triumphant smile

"Why did you leave if you were the best" I asked curiously I just want to get a punch to her face after all the punishments I've gotten because of her

"Like you left I wanted out of that place" she looked at me as if I grew two heads

"Why are you beating these girls up you seem like a softy showing your emotions to everyone" I calmly put it knowing I'm making her mad

She charged at me I grabbed her neck and slammed her to the ground knocking the wind out of her

She didn't waste anytime and got up a little off balance. Kaiden came looking at us with wide eyes

"Skylar you need to stop fighting with your pack we're family we respect each other" Kaiden sounded tired

She growled again and did a round house kick to my head which it hit but to lightly for me to get dizzy

I tasted a little blood in my mouth that pissed me off I just got out of that hell hole to get more pain

My fingers came up to my lips and wiped the blood off

I spit some of the blood that was still in my mouth out looking at her, she shouldn't have done that

"Did I make you mad you should be used to the hits" skylar taunted showing me her famous smile

I walked up to her and whispered in her ear "That wasn't even a hit maybe a light pat to the head" I said right before I grabbed her head and slammed it on my knee

She went to the ground groaning in pain "What was that for" Kaiden asked incredulously

I turned around to face him "The pain I gave her was nothing to the pain I went through because of her" I said harshly

"Don't worry she'll be fine the training would help her from feeling to much of the pain" I reassured him

He nodded his head slowly still trying to process all this "You bitch I think you broke my nose" Skylar growled at me

I just walked towards Kaiden waiting to get some food that I needed right now, my stomach grumbled when I stopped walking

Kaiden snapped his head towards me "you must be starving let's go get you something to eat" he said while grabbing my hand quickly

I flinched a little he looked at me worriedly I just nodded and we kept walking together he never let go of my hand until we got to the kitchen

We entered the kitchen and Kaiden grabbed a plate and started filling it with food that looked like the left overs they just ate

He handed me the food and I was shocked I've never gotten this well cooked of food in a long time

We walked over to the table and I dug into my food without second thoughts.

I was done with my food pretty fast not noticing Kaiden staring at me with shock in his eyes

"I guess you really were hungry" Kaiden said while chuckling softly I just sat there quietly not knowing what to do

"Let me show you to your room" Kaiden said standing up and taking my dish

I got up a little nervous that I might go back down into a basement or something

Kaiden left then came back gesturing for me to follow him

We went up a set of stairs and I relaxed knowing I wouldn't go down into their basement

Passing a lot of rooms we finally reached a door he stopped right in front of

He looked at me and opened the door I walked in looking around "This is my room" I asked nervously maybe this was a joke he was pulling

"Yup all yours there's a shower and a closet with some clothes we leave in there just incase we need some extras" Kaiden said

"My room is right next to yours on the right if you need anything" he said walking out of the room and closing the door behind him

I stood there looking around for a closet realizing I only had on Kaiden's t-shirt. I walked to the door guessing it might be the closet which it was

Seeing a light switch I flicked it on and saw some sweats and some underwear that were separated for the guys and the girls

I grabbed whatever looked about my size and headed towards the bathroom

The bathroom was massive and fancy something I felt like I shouldn't touch

I walked towards the shower and turned the water on cold like I'm used to and got in

There was some body wash and other shower stuff they all smelled like roses which I kinda liked it was different

I saw a razor on the side and notice I haven't shaved in a while so I used this as my opportunity to shave

Finishing with everything I got out of the shower and saw a towel hanging on a rack

'They have everything here' Lacie said excitedly 'Way more than I'm used to' I said back

'I think I could get used to this' Lacie said relaxed 'No I don't want to settle down to much I still want to get farther away than this' I tensed up

'Just for a while then we'll see if we want to go' Lacie trailed off. I just shrugged it off and started changing

'I guess not everything changes' I grumble back a little happy not everything is changing so quickly

'We could find some work and earn some money to get new clothes no worry' my wolf reassured me

I walked out of the bathroom to see Kaiden sitting on my bed patiently he looked over at me when I closed the door behind me

"I just thought I'd check on you to see if you needed anything else before you go to sleep" Kaiden stood up awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck

"I'm good thanks for the room" I say unsure how this goes I'm normally left alone for the night so this surprises me

"Okay well goodnight remember I'm in the other room if you need anything" he said walking out of the room again looking at me worriedly

"Okay goodnight" I stutter out 'gosh I don't remember someone being this nice' I thought to myself

Kaiden shut the door 'The people back at that place treated you wrong and everyone else' Lacie said I agreed they did but I got used to it

I turned around and looked at the bed that I haven't had in so long it looked really comfortable

'maybe a goodnight sleep tonight' Lacie said cheerfully

'I don't know I just want some sleep' I said to my wolf tiredly, I walked to the bed and laid down feeling my body relax in the soft sheets

'A goodnight sleep Lacie! might just come tonight' I said to my wolf before I fell into a peaceful sleep
