"y/n, you're going to have to stop avoiding him someday." toby informs you while moving a hair from your face

sighing at her words you glimpse around the room trying to find fitz to see him leaning against a wall talking to ryan and mason

you look back at toby and adjust your shirt "i know, i'm just too nervous"

she rolls her eyes and puts her hands on your shoulders "there's no reason to be, i don't know how many times i have to tell you this for it to process through that head of yours."

ryan clapped his hands loudly interrupting your talk

"c'mon ladies, the room is ready," he tells us while sliding his arms around our shoulders making us walk together "ryan, we all can't go into the room like this" you warn him as the three of you get closer and closer to the door

once you all got to the entrance he realized you were right and let the two of you go

you walked in first and stepped to the side bumping into someone "i'm sorry." you yelp and look up to see who you bumped into

"it's okay." cam smiles

you missed that smile of his, his voice, his jokes, you missed him

you tried not to smile back but ultimately failed and cracked a smile which he saw. cameron moved your face to look directly at him, you stared at each other for a moment, you wanted to pull away badly but didn't have the strength

he opened his mouth to say something but you were being dragged away

mason screamed and aggressively tossed a vest at you "y/n, you need a vest!" you stared as he grabbed another and yelled out for fitz "you need one too!"

you were all playing laser tag for a video that was being released on the misfits youtube channel. ryan made sure to contact the best laser tag place in melbourne and rent out a room for four hours just for the video

as you never played laser tag before you made sure to listen in on the instructions that were being told "decide your teams. since there's 8 of you, split into two groups." the man who was explaining the game instructs us

you look around the room and see cam walking towards you, instantly you turn your head to locate toby and once you did, you ran towards her "i'm in your group."

she nods her head "we have four people!"

fitz frowns feeling defeated as he wanted you on the same team as him

you watched him walk towards mason, matt, and mccreamy "i feel bad" you whisper to toby only for her to roll her eyes at you "stop being a pussy and tell him you like him"

"that's the problem... i don't like him" her eyes open wide as she is confused at your words because not too long ago you told her you had feelings for him "i don't like him because... well because i love him," you confess

a big smile appeared on her face and pulls you into a short hug

she didn't say anything and neither did you since you were surprised that you finally said how you felt about him out loud

it was the last round of the game and you were the first to move in and take cover "there's no one around, you can move" swagger murmurs so you take advantage and sprint to find someone

you spot cameron watching as he turned a wall but you didn't want to face him, at least not so soon

knowing that his team would be near him you followed behind and saw mason trailing behind him. you stepped as softly as you could and shot masons vest which made him shriek in fright

"shh!" you told him in hopes cameron wouldn't turn around but it was too late because he heard mason

you cursed to yourself as he made eye contact with you, everything froze and you had forgotten what you were doing until you heard mason speak "get her fitz, the fuck are you doing just staring at her"

you covered the sensor on your vest and ran making an effort to get away from him

"where can i go, where can i go..." you asked yourself peeking around every corner trying to find a place to hide

as you roamed through the middle of the room you heard someone fall. you took a glimpse to see who it was and to make sure they weren't hurt badly "fuck, fuck, fuck" they whined in pain

it was mccreamy "you okay?" you whisper, in hopes that he'd be the only one to hear you

he looks up and nodded his head. he changes positions so his vest sensor would be visible "here, shoot me." you squint at him and looked around, not knowing if you should trust him or not

you move towards him only for him to shoot you "sorry y/n, i had to take advantage. but thanks for checking on me." jay chuckles

multiple curse words come out of your mouth as you sprint to the closest cover wall in attempt to hid but as if you weren't being clumsy enough you ran into someone

you close your eyes and wait for them to speak, you hoped it was someone from your team. they grabbed you and shoved you so your back hit the wall

"you okay?" he asked.

you opened your eyes to see cameron, he had both of his hands on the wall keeping you in.

"i'm fine," you reply and look at him in the eyes
you painfully want to tell him how you feel but you didn't have the strength

"what is it y/n, tell me." he begs only for you to shake your head in response "i can't," you say before you have the chance to say anything else the lights turn on "c'mon everyone, time to see who won!" ryan yelled from the front of the room

you ducked under his arm and sprinted out of the room to see the scoreboard

"team 420 won!" swagger cried out in happiness and hugged you, toby and ryan

ryan cheered "congrats guys. everyone go do whatever you want, we leave in an hour." as if we were all kids everyone separated and went to the arcade room

feeling out of breath you tapped on swaggers shoulder and said "i'm going to step outside for some air."

he nodded his head and went back to the game he was playing

you pushed the front door open and smiled as the cool breeze immediately helped you feel better.

you sat in silence enjoying the fresh air for a few minutes until ryan stepped out of the laser tag building on the phone talking to whoever saying how we're leaving in 30 minutes.

with that information, you decided to go back inside.

you opened the door and heard cams voice, you turned your head and saw him staring at you. he walked towards you, you knew you couldn't escape him this time.

he pulled you aside and with sadness, in his voice, he asked "why are you avoiding me?"

you looked down and sighed as his hand softly caressed your cheek "because i love you, and i was too afraid to tell you."

he lifted up your head to look at him, with a smile on his face he responded "i love you too."
