I found a competent doctor in this hell hole of a hospital. I wasn't surprised when I found that the only doctor with brains that I talked to was a woman.

Sadly, the information I got, wasn't good information.

The cancer is fast spreading, stage three malignant pancreatic cancer. I looked at the scans, and it doesn't look good.

But I don't want to give up hope.

I got a number for an oncologist in Boston and I already called to make an appointment.

The doctor said that Fred would have to stay here again tonight because apparently he is pretty dehydrated. And since he is already going to have to stay here tonight, I convinced the doctor to run some more in depth scans so that we have more detailed information to show the oncologist.

I hope that we never have to bring Fred back to this hospital. It took me twenty minutes to find a doctor with a brain. If we ever have to take him to a hospital again, we will definitely go to a different one.

At least we have the oncology appointment scheduled and will be getting better scans.

It's going to be hard to convince Harry to leave the hospital tonight after I tell him Fred will be staying here another night.

I make my way to find the food court area of the hospital. We haven't had anything to eat in a while and I know Harry will forget to if I don't bring him some food.

We need to take care of Fred. But I also need to take care of Harry. Situations like this, believe it or not, are actually harder on the caregiver.

After I get some snacks from the food court, I make my way back to the hospital room to tell Harry and Fred about the information I got.

As I near the room, I stop for a moment outside the door when I hear Fred and Harry laughing and teasing eachother.

It feels good to hear him laugh.

I quickly pull out my phone and open the voice memos app to record them for a moment.

I know that after I tell Harry about the information I gathered, the sound of his beautiful laughter will disappear. So, I let the happy moment last a while longer.

"Is your hand getting tired from all those cards you're holding?" I hear Fred quip.

"You forget that I'm winning." Harry retorts.

I stifle my laughter from listening to their playful banter for a few moments before I stop the recording and decide to walk in to the room.

I make my way over to Harry who is sitting on edge of the hospital bed, opposite of Fred, as they play cards on the pull over bed table between them.
