Draco hadn't even finished sitting down before the hat announced him as slytherin. "Y/n Malfoy!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed. I gulp, hesitantly walking up the the chair. I sit down and the hat is placed on my head. It mumbled incoherently. "Ravenclaw!" It announced. The room went silent. "That can't be right." Draco is the first one to break the silence. "Malfoy's are Slytherins and Slytherins only." He adds. "The hat has decided. Y/n Malfoy is a Ravenclaw." Professor McGonagall replies. I stand up, walking back over to Draco.
- After the sorting ceremony, everyone started to file out of the mess hall and to their respected dorms. I pat Draco on the back. "Draco. Draco!" I shout. He turns around. "What?" He snaps. "You're not mad at me, are you? I want to be in Slytherin. You know that." I explain. "You're a disgrace to the Malfoy name." He seethes. "Draco!" I exclaim. But he was already gone. I push past people, running down the halls quickly so no one could see me cry. I felt a hand on my shoulder, holding me back. I jerk around to see Harry Potter.
"What do you want, Potter?" I ask, looking anywhere but him. "I overheard what Draco said to you. I'm sorry. No one deserves to be spoken to like that." Harry replies. "Oh. It's fine. I suppose I deserve it. And... he's not wrong. It's Malfoy tradition to be sorted into Slytherin." I retort. "Well, you'll be a wonderful Ravenclaw. Shame we weren't sorted into the same house." He sighs. "Yeah. Thank you, Harry. I feel a bit better. I'll see you around, all right?" I ask. "Right. Bye, Y/n!" He smiles before running after Ron.
