To most, Sirius Black was a ladies man, a player, if you will. But to y/n, who had known Sirius longer than any of his best friends, she saw right past his tough facade. From the first moment the hat spit out the words she was terrified to hear, Sirius had ignored her like she was a plague. To lose his best friend to Slytherin was too much. Sure, he was being prejudiced. He really had no clue how many Slytherins ended up becoming death eaters, but he knew all too well that he didn't want to hang out with more people similar to his family. And he definitely did not want to watch his best friend, the most beautiful girl, turn into someone rotten like a death eater. So, he ignored her, locked her out of his life. And it got worse everyday. To see y/n hang around Severus was more painful than any unforgivable curse.

And for y/n, to watch Sirius turn into someone so cold, someone so unlike him, it was revolting. She tried to talk to him, to reason with him. But he was stubborn, she always knew this. She was ready to give up, to let him go. But one day, when she saw him smiling with his friends in the courtyard, it was then that she realized how much she missed him. And for Sirius, it was when he saw y/n hanging out with some muggle-born students that he realized she wasn't like his family at all.

Y/n sauntered down the hallway, far enough so nobody was next to her, but close enough so she could hear some Ravenclaw girls giggling about Sirius. She took in a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Unfortunately, she failed. As the giggling seemed to somehow get louder, she snapped. Swiftly turning around, the two Ravenclaw's froze in their tracks. "Will you two please, for the love of Merlin, shut up about Sirius Black?!" Y/n yelled, too-loudly. "I- We're sorry." The girls stammered before scurrying away. "I thought I told you never to use my last name." The familiar voice called from behind y/n. She groaned as she turned around to face him. "We are far from a first name basis, Black." She seethed. "Can we talk, y/n? Please." Sirius begged, his rough demeanor faltering. "Fine. Although, I think it impossible for you to ever earn my forgiveness." Y/n snarled as Sirius dragged her to a secluded area. He looked around for a moment, making sure they were alone. "I miss you." He blurt. "Fuck you, Sirius Black. You think you can go three years without speaking to me and then you can just waltz back in to my life like nothing happened?" Y/n yelled. "Please, just listen to me." He continued. She let out a huff. "Thank you. I just- you know my family. I didn't want to see you turn into them. I got scared." Sirius sighed. "You had three years to tell me that. I would've understood. But you hurt me, Sirius. You hurt me because I love you. I love you and you left me so easily. Too easy! It should've been hard for you to walk away from me. And I love you and you hurt me!" Y/n began to cry, her body racking with sobs. At a loss for words, Sirius hugged y/n. "I love you, too. And, you're stupid for thinking it wasn't hard for me. It was the most difficult choice i've ever made." He whispered. "I got so sick of hearing your name coming out of all these girls mouths. I want you all for myself." Y/n sniffled. "I'm yours. Only yours." Sirius smiled against her hair. "I love you." Y/n repeat. "We've got so much to catch up on." Sirius smirked as he pulled away from the hug. "Yeah, yeah we do." Y/n laughed, wiping away her tears.
