Trouble with People

I watched as her body went up and her eyes rolled behind her head. Then, she disappeared.

"NOOOOO!!!" I cried.

I fell onto my knees and cried. My sister was gone. My last piece of family...gone! Literally vanished before my very eyes.

"Why!!!" I cried, "Why my only piece of family! Why not take me too?"

"Sam, I-I'm really so-"

"SHUT UP!!!!" I yelled at Daniel.

"Dude! I'm sorry. I really am. How can I prove it to you?" Daniel asked.

"Bring my sister back!!!" I yelled at him.

Someone knocked at the door. We froze staring at the door. No one dares to speak. No one dared to move. Finally, we all decided to hide. They bust down the door and we realized it was the government.

"Search this house!!! I know we saw them enter. We're looking for 6 scoundrels. Don't give up till you've searched everywhere!!" the general yelled.

We were all hidden in the back of a door behind some little steps. They walked above us and around us checking the house. These were the people that killed my parents and guilted my sister. I was ready to jump out and kill them but Mike held me back and shook his head as if to say 'it's not worth it.' I sat back down and waited for them to leave. We sat there for 3 hours until a woman went up to the general.

"Sir, they're not here. We checked everywhere. They might've escaped." she said.

"No, they're here. They left their shoes here. They can't go anywhere without them. Did you check under the stairs where that one girl was hiding last time?" he asked.

"No, where is it?"

"Right behind you."

I looked at Mike who looked at Daniel who looked at Lona who looked at Layloni who looked at me. I signaled for them to back up. We all hid in dark corners hoping she didn't have a flashlight. She opened the door and looked around. Then, she walked out.

"Well?" the general asked.

"I couldn't see very well. There's at least 10 corners but I didn't have a flashlight."

He gave her a flashlight and she came back in and shined it directly at us. She looked at us with wide sympathetic eyes.

"Did you find anything?" the general asked.

She looked at us and shook her head, "No nothing here!"

She winked at us and backed out leaving us dumb-founded.

"What do you mean there's nothing there?!?! Brenda if your hiding them again you will get severely punished." the general said.

He snatched the flashlight and opened the door. He stepped inside and shined the light in every corner until it came upon us. He came over to us and tied our hands to one another's. Then he grabbed one end and dragged us out. When we were out he yanked the rope where we fell on top of one another. He then went over to Brenda and slapped her face so hard she fell.

"I warned you Brenda!!" he yelled, "Now show us your powers."

I looked up at him wide-eyed. He looked us over and counted. He gave me a confused look.

"If I remember correctly," he said looking at me, "you had a sister. So, where is she?"

The image of her in the air with white eyes flashed before me. It really happened. She was gone. The general looked at me expectantly. The image flashed before me again and I cried. Mike scooted over to me and put his hand on my shoulder.

"Calm down Sam. We'll find her." he whispered softly where the general couldn't hear.

"Come on boy, we haven't got all day. Now where is she?" the general said impatiently.

"I-I don't know." I cried.

I put my arms around Mike and cried. He did his best to calm me down. Except, it didn't work. I didn't know where she went. As long as it was her birthday I would cry.

"How do you not know where your own sister is?" he yelled getting impatient, "Never mind that. Let's just get these guys to the prison." he said and grabbed the rope.

Every time I tried to pull the rope from his hands he yanked hard where I fell. One time he actually dropped it and we ran. He stepped on it and I fell on a rock.

"Get up!!" the general yelled.

I slowly got up and trudged on with a big wound on my stomach. By the time we got to base my shirt was blood-soaked. They threw me, yes literally threw me, into a cell. A flew against the back wall. All the other were in one cell together.

"Where's Sam?" I heard Mike ask the guard.

"He's in a different cell until he tells us where his sister is." the guard replied.

"He need to stay with me!!!" Mike yelled.

"After he tells us where his sister is." the guard said angrily.

I wasn't given food or anything to drink. I stayed up all hours of the night wishing I had Samantha with me.
