Chapter 11 Killing and Saving 3

Jess's POV

Jonas tried to unlock the cage but seems there was something jamming the lock. Jonas pulled the lock vigorously and I decided to unlock it in the other side of the cage.

Suyin kept telling us to go back, but we didn't want to leave her dead here, she got a little girl to take care of and a father who really worried about her.

I tried to pull the lock when the oxygen of Suyin's tank was all running out.

All the strength that we put on the cage, made the crane fell into the ocean. I heard the Wall yelled, 'Jonas, Jess, the crane is in the water. It's gonna pull her to the bottom. Hurry!'

Meanwhile, I was able to unlock the cage but Suyin had already lost her consciousness. The cage was pulled to the bottom by the crane when I opened the cage and saved her. I grabbed her and Jonas and I swam back to the boat as soon as we could.

And everyone on the boat was trying to buy us some more time, they used another crane to set up a trap with some bait to attract the Meg away from us and restrain the Meg on the other side. The Meg headed to the bait and the trap was working but it was working a bit too well, the Meg wasn't pulling but seemed to be tearing it apart. Fortunately, the rope from the crane had restrained it, Jonas and I didn't need to care much about the Meg would be coming for us. We headed straight away back to the boat.

The meg was still coming for us but the rope had caught it and the poison just took effect in its system. I put Suyin on the deck and Dr Heller came over to check on Suyin, although Suyin stopped breathing for a minute but luckily she had done so many training on diving emergency due to her job nature, that didn't take her life away from her little girl.

While Suyin was resting in the cabin room, we were pulling the dead Meg up from the sea. Jonas looked in its eyes and I hugged him. I knew he was really sad about what happened before and now, this thing took our friends' life. At least killing it, gave us a relief.

Jonas and I sat on the deck, looking at the body of the Meg. But I found something weird, the mouth of this Meg seemed a bit smaller than the bite mark we saw earlier on Mana One. I whispered to Jonas, 'isn't it seem a bit smaller than we imagine?'

Jonas moved his eyes from me and looked at the Meg, 'I am not sure, it does seem smaller than I imagine. Maybe we discuss it with Dr Zhang when Suyin is awake.' I nodded. I kissed his cheek and felt the breeze. I felt peace in my mind which made me feel a lot better.

The only thing that I hope for now, was getting back to Mana One and seeing my sister again. I really want to go back to Thailand after all these were settled.
