"I'm pregnant"
Was Mark hearing that correctly or was he just imagining things? Lexie is..pregnant. Mark just sat there for a few minutes without saying anything as he let those two words really just sink into his mind. Lexie Grey, Mark Sloan's girlfriend, was pregnant. There was a baby growing inside of her.
The older male didn't know why but he had to ask just in case, "the baby is..mine, right? I know you and Alex have a little history before we started anything.." Mark said while scratching his neck nervously as he waited for an answer.
Lexie frowned slightly and nodded, "the baby is yours, Mark. I'm a little over two weeks pregnant which definitely makes this baby yours.." Lexie placed a hand on her stomach and smiled. "I know we barely even started dating but I can't give this baby up, I won't" Lexie said with a sigh.
Mark just smiled and leaned over, kissing her softly on the lips, "all my life..I've just used girls as sex objects because it was a way for me to never get my heart broken but then you, little Grey, showed up into my life like a little hurricane." He laughed, "you're everything I could ever want and who cares if it's early? This baby is ours and I'm going to be the best father I can to him or her and the best boyfriend I can be to you, whether that's picking up taco bell at 3 in the morning or massaging your feet after a long day, I'll be there"
Lexie had tears in her eyes at this point and she couldn't find words for the first time ever to express how she felt in this moment so she just leaned over and kissed him softly, "Derek and Meredith most likely know about us but we should talk to them later.." Lexie stated and Mark simply just nodded, "that's a conversation for another time."
An Hour Later
Lexie and Mark were cuddled up on the bed and watching some random comedy they found on the TV when Dr. Fields walked in, causing Lexie to turn the TV off.
"Well I have good news but it could lead into bad news if it isn't taken care of" Dr. Fields started before walking to the bed, "the pain in your stomach was caused from severe stress, I suggest you take a while off from work to really just relax in bed, it'll be good for you and the baby. The fainting was caused from not having enough food or water in your system."
Dr. Fields sighed before looking directly to Lexie, "Lexie, you have to think about the baby too now, it isn't just your body anymore that needs the attention. I suggest you stay out of work for at least two weeks and make sure to eat and drink plenty, this is no joke." Dr. Fields said sternly at the brunette and Lexie nodded quickly before Dr. Fields walked out.
"Okay, let's get you home and by that, I mean that you're going to be staying at my hotel until you can go back to work. I'll talk with Meredith and Derek, I don't want you or the baby to become stressed." Mark said with a smile before standing up and helping Lexie up.
Later That Night at the Archfield
"Ughh, Mark..I can't handle staying in bed for too long, I need to do something other than stuffing my face with food and watching romance movies. How long has it been??"
Mark walked into the room after getting out the shower and raised an eyebrow, "babe..it's only been a few hours, plus..think about it like this." He sat down next to her on the bed after taking the towel off and getting under the covers, pulling her to him. "You can bond with our little angel in there and when you get all nice and rested, you can come to work with the best rest than all of us which means you'll be more on point than all of us." Mark said with a smirk and began to place kisses all across her face.
Lexie laughed and kissed him on the lips when he reached her lips, "so what gender do you hope it's going to be?" Lexie asked with a bright smile.
Mark just shrugged, "either way, I'll love them but..I guess I want a boy more because if I have a daughter, I'm going to have to kick every guys ass who tries to touch my baby girl" Mark said sternly and Lexie couldn't help but to love Mark's protective father side.
"Now, I have to be at work at 2 in the morning so that gives me about.." he checked the time and sighed, "4 hours of sleep, I expect you to not get up at all unless it's to get something to eat and drink or use the bathroom and take a shower." Mark said sternly and Lexie nodded, "yes sir" she laughed and kissed him, "goodnight.." she said softly before laying down.
Mark smiled and kissed her again before stroking her hair, "goodnight, Lex" he then bent down to her stomach "goodnight, peanut" he said in a joking voice before kissing her stomach and leaning up again, pulling Lexie to his chest and the both of them fell into a deep sleep in each other's embrace.
