ES AU: Mixed Worlds

Chapter 2

Two eevees were sitting at a  bench in a town.

Speed: So why did they attack you anyway?

Lazuli: I beat each of them 5 to 2 in the last tournament.

Speed: Oh I probably would have known if I had entered.

Lazuli: Why didn't you? you seem strong and the fighting looked thrilling to you.

Speed: Well I knew I could beat those pokemon no problem because I knew you would probably get up. And I am clearly not the strongest pokemon around, and I don't want to get myself hurt too bad.

Lazuli: Oh, well it was not that bad. I mean sure it is a little painful but the fun of the fighting does overwrite it.

Speed: Well when you say it like that, now I am starting to regret not entering.

Lazuli: Well you can always enter the next one.

The two eevees continued talking for a while longer.

Lazuli: Well I am getting hungry, do you wanna go eat something?

Speed: Sure what food do you like?

Lazuli bolted up

Lazuli: Ice cream!

Speed was trying to hold back his laughter, but a smile spread across his face. 

Lazuli looked down in embarrassment.

Speed: Ok then we can get ice cream, I didn't know you liked ice cream so much.

Later

Speed: Wow you ate that fast.

Lazuli: Wait it is all gone already I just started!

Speed burst in laugher when she said that.

Lazuli: At least I don't sound like I am using hyper voice when I laugh!

Speed: Hey!

The two joked around for a while when speed said out of the blue

Speed: ...I am going to be a rescuer.

Lazuli: What?

Speed: Rescuer does a lot of traveling. Doing all of this traveling may lead me to finding my parents. I need to know what happened to my parents. Also Rose is the only one who has a job. I don't think she would be able to support me and my two other siblings forever. 

Lazuli: But being a rescuer is dangerous. you could get hurt.

Speed: I don't care. Nothing is changing my mind

Lazuli: Who said I was changing your mind?

Speed: What?

Lazuli: If you are being a rescuer, then so am I. I met you a day ago and you are my closest friend. If I become a rescuer with you we will be able to see each other more often, then we already can. Also, I need to pay you back for when you helped me out with those two pokemon.

Speed: But-

Lazuli: You said you didn't care if you got hurt. I don't care if I get hurt either, I just want my best friend to be safe.

Speed saw that lazuli had a look of determination and concern.

Speed: ... Fine. But that goes for you too.

The two eevees stared at each other for a second.

Speed: Well what are we waiting for? let's go!

Lazuli: Wait!

CRASH

Speed had crashed into a shinx

Speed: Owww

Lazuli: told you

Speed: Are you ok?

???: yea I am fine...

Speed: Umm Why are you staring at us?

???: Wait you don't know me?

Lazuli: no

???: This is the first time I am being noticed not for my dad! 

???: My name is Trace nice to meet you.

Speed: My name is Red, but you can call me Speed

Lazuli: I am lazuli.

Trace: Ummm red and speed are interesting names for a girl.

Speed facepalmed

Speed: (This is the second time this happened.) I am a guy.

Trace: What? but your voice sounds so much like a girl!

Lazuli: Did you see his tail? it is not a heart.

Trace felt very embarrassed, so he tried to change the subject

Trace: Are you guys planning on rescuers?  

Speed/Lazuli: Yes

Trace: I would invite you guys to my team but me and my partner have been rescuers for awhile now.

Speed: That is ok. I probably would have gotten in your way anyway.

Lazuli: Well we need to go now bye!

Trace: Bye! lets keep in touch!

Soon after Speed and lazuli got their scarves and became rescuers.

Lazuli: I just realized my dad would find out that I am a rescuer.

Speed: You can get a part-time job. I would join you too for that.
