J.k. Rowling reveals that besides her, Alan was the only person in the world to know what was the fate of Snape. Rowling told Rickman that Snape "Always" loved Lily potter. One of her fans asked what exactly did she told him? Rowling replied "I told Alan what lies behind the word "Always". Alan promised not to tell anybody and so when the directors would ask him to act out the part like this or like that, he would often say "Snape would never do that". Knowing Snape's fate from the beginning helped Alan to become the perfect Snape.
