In mandarin, a letter is 信 (Xìn) and in this chapter I will tell you the format of writing a letter. This will be useful in compositions.
To start off, write 亲爱的 (name of person), 亲爱的 means dear. And end off with 祝，身体健康, and your name and date.

The content of your letter could be anything as long as it doesn't contain something that insults and lowers the other person's self esteem.
好久不见：long time no see Pinyin: Hǎojiǔ bùjiàn
祝：to wish (wish happy birthday, etc.) Pinyin: Zhù
身体健康：healthy body Pinyin: Shēntǐ jiànkāng
Other wishes you can include: 一切都好 (Yīqiè dōuhǎo) 平平安安
