Shinobu stumbled into her apartment, slamming the door behind her. Finally, she could sink down to the floor and cry her heart out.
Why was she crying? She didn't know. Well, maybe she did. The truth was, she had just broken up with her 2 year boyfriend, Tomioka Giyuu. She didn't exactly know why she did, but her main guess was that she wanted out. Why did she want out? She didn't know.
Shinobu was happy with Giyuu. She truly loved him, and he had somehow made it clear that he loved her back, regardless of his communication issues. But for some unknown reason, she just felt... suffocated suddenly. She had to get out, and she didn't know why. Of course she still loved him, but Shinobu just couldn't understand what she was feeling.
And here came the tears. Why, why, why was she crying? Still, Shinobu didn't know. She didn't feel like she had the right to cry. It was her choice to break up, anyways. But the tears just came pouring down, seemingly unending. Shinobu just wanted them to stop.
Most importantly, she felt awful. She had hurt Giyuu just because she was selfish, thinking only about what she wanted in this whole thing. As she sat there, sobbing against her apartment door, she felt that her tears were selfish in and of themselves. She really had no right to cry, but she did anyways.
She couldn't help it.
Soon enough, her pretty face still contorted with tears, she stood and staggered to her room, leaving behind a trail of belongings as she dropped her various things and outerwear. As soon as she reached her bed, she fell upon it and screeched into her pillow. The trusty cushion had withstood many tear filled screaming sessions, with the stains to prove it. Shinobu stopped screaming soon, though, as it didn't exactly contribute well to her splitting headache.
After an hour of sobbing, the petite girl sluggishly reached for her phone and unlocked it. She had 53 texts and 15 missed calls. Most of the texts were from Mitsuri, who was worried about her. The other 2 texts were from Giyuu. All the other missed calls were from Kanae.
Shinobu unwillingly opened the texts from Giyuu, as she already knew that Mitsuri was probably just spamming hey as usual. More tears squeezed out of her bloodshot eyes as she read the two messages:
Idiot💙:
hey Kochou I know you
probably want me to leave you
alone but I just wanted to say
that as long as you're happy I'm
okayIdiot💙:
i love you and goodbyeWhy was she so stupid? She threw her phone onto the couch across the room and returned to her pillow. Look at this dork, putting her first while she didn't even know for sure why she broke up with him. She desperately wanted to reply back, but for some reason, saying "hey I messed up" was the hardest thing in the world for her to do.
Eventually, she fell asleep with her phone in her hand, thumb poised to send an apology that never saw the light of day.
