Chapter (2.0) Danger Approaches

"So when did you find out?"

We were about a month into school and You and Hermione were hanging out in the library, Hermione was reading a huge book as per usual but this one seemed to be more intriguing compared to her past reads. You were simply browsing around for a good read, You sat down and again asked,

"So when did you find out?" You asked again referring to her ring finger that had turned from a pinky-red at the start of the year to a darker red more blood-like color signaling that she had found her soulmate.

"I found out on the train, I just didn't really want anyone to know my soulmate was such a prat," she whispered,

"I see, I don't know if my soulmates even realize I'm their soulmate," I say not trying to sound bothered.

Then, they heard talking that was occurring just around the corner,

"I swear Fred! I remember seeing both of our ring finger glowing when we were talking to Y/L/N!" he said in a hushed whisper,

I felt my face getting hot and I didn't know what to do.

"Maybe you were just seeing things, we shouldn't jump to a conclusion yet. We'll find out soon enough," responded Fred,

You and Hermione just sat still as not to catch any attention from the Twins.

Time Skip- Halloween

You sat in the Great Hall at the Slytherin table minding your own business reading a book Hermione had lent to You, You were eating toast with jam,

"Hey, ssssp ssssp,"

You look up to see Pansy Parkinson, the girl who fawns over Draco Malfoy at any chance she has.

"What?" You say slightly rudely as You just want to be left alone

"I was wondering, why do you hang out with that Mudblood?" she responded.

Your face started to heat up,

"For your information, it's because I don't want to hang out with someone like you, at least Hermione doesn't make being Draco's servant her only personality trait!" I yell accidentally catching the attention of some eyes in the process.

I walk out of the Great Hall in disgust,

"What an arse!" you say under your breath

You start heading off to the library to get some quiet.

Twins POV

"Wonder what that was all about?" asked Fred

"Pug-faced Pansy must have said something that upset her," said George

"What do you expect? She's a Slytherin who hangs out with Gryffindors, she's gonna make some enemies. Especially when shes among a bunch of Gryffindor haters." said Fred

"If she's friends with Hermione than she's mental already,"

The Twins turned tp see their little brother Ronald who was eavesdropping on their conversation,

"Oh yeah? And makes you so confident to make such a bold statement?" asked George

"Yeah, Y/N seems pretty chill. I think she balances out Hermione," defended Fred

"Why are you guys even defending her? She's a Slytherin, Slytherin is full of prats and dark wizards," asked Ron rudely.

"How small-minded of you Ronald," said George

"And to think we thought more of you," said Fred

Later

You and Hermione were walking in the courtyard with the rest of the students, we just finished our last period and were talking about our homework. In front of us was Dean, Seamus, Harry, and of course Ron, we started to hear their conversation more and more as they continued to get louder and louder as they continued talking. It was clear that Ron was the one talking,

"Honestly! That's why she barely has any friends, she's a freak!" he said with the nods of the other boys

Hermione started to walk faster and bumped into Ron to make in aware that she heard him, I ran after her, and she went out of view. You turned around and looked right at Ron,

"Why in Merlin's beard would you say that about her!" You yell at him

"I-I wa-as just r-ranting," he said, clearly ashamed of his actions

"Bloody hell, she's gonna be in a bad mood for the rest of the day," you say still furious.

You walked off in a speed run to find your best friend.

About an hour later you found her in a girls stall crying,

"Hermione?" You say calmly

"Hermione open the door,"

"Why are you even here? You heard Ron, I'm a freak!" she said, You can tell she's been crying for a while now,

"Hermione you aren't a freak, Ron didn't mean it."

"Yes, he did! My 'Soulmate' hates me!"

"Hermione it's ok,"

"Leave me alone"

"Hermione Granger I am not leaving this bathroom without you."

You sit on the floor and start watching her stall door, and every once awhile you try saying something comforting.

About an hour later you found yourself on the floor,

'Must have fallen asleep' you think

You get up and stretch a bit and sees that Hermione is still in the stall,

'THUMP'

"What was that?" Hermione asks

'THUMP THUMP'

"I don't know," you say

You walk out into the hallway and you see a giant troll headed your way,

"Hermione, stay in your stall!"

"WHY?"

"Just stay there!"

You take out your wand,

'I must be out of my mind' you think as you try to find a hiding spot
