Jay's POV

The time was passing slowly, me and Hailey were inside the van listening to the wire inside of Laura's house trying to get as much information as possible.

"Well this is interesting." Hailey said in her usual sarcastic tone.

"I've honestly never felt so bored during my entire life, I can't even understand what they're saying."

"And that is why something very nice and useful called translater was invented!"

"Very funny Detective, hilarious! But have you got something or not?"

"Not really, he's just talking about the soccer game from what I understood."

"Well then I guess we'll just have to wait until Laura does her thing. But for now, you can keep starring at that computer screen."

We spent another hour doing the same thing and talking to eachother until Laura whispered something to the wire.

"My dad is going to the garage to get something, I'll do it now."

Me and Hailey sat straight in our chairs and paid attention to what was about to happen, ready to intervene in case something went wrong.

Laura's POV

Me and dad were in the living room wachting the game as he kept on talking about something that I didn't even understand because of how nervous and scared I was. My dad is a very protective man over is personal space and everyone who trys to invade it, suffers the consequences.

"Vou à garagem, não mexas nas minhas coisas!" ( I'm going to the garage, don't touch my stuff).

"Ok"

When I saw him heading towards the back of the house I got close to the place where I had hidden the wire and told Hailey and Jay about what I was about to do.

"My dad is going to the garage to get something, I'll do it now."

I quickly checked if he hadn't returned yet and then picked up his phone, I  put the password in to unlock it but it didn't work.

"Fuck."

I kept trying to put in passwords but none of them worked, until I remembered how important his mom was for him. I would risk saying she was the only person my dad had ever loved and cared about, which is why after her death he became extremely violent to everyone arround him and didn't show any kind of emotions or afection.
Once I was finally able to unlock the phone I checked his text messages and all the information of the meeting was there.

'Tuesday 26th February, Old Silos, 5pm, bring the cash and the kid. I wanna make sure you don't do anything stupid.'

'I'm bringing the cash, but the kid hell no!"

"Bring her or the deal is of!"

"Fine."

Just when I was about to put the phone back in the table my dad came into the room.

"What the fuck are you doing with that?!?"

"Nothing, you just..."

"You bicth I told you not to touch anything! Are you stupid, or really just don't understand anything unless I use the belt??"

"Calm down, you didn't let me finish. You got a notification so I went to check what it was."

"Well no one asked you to do it, so I hope you're not lying, or you'll regret it."

"I'm not lying, you're my family and I don't snicht on family. You thaught me that, remember?"

"I do and I hope you're telling me the truth. Now get the hell out of my house. I need to take care of something!"

I grabbed my coat and left the house, I quickly got to the alley where I was suposed to meet Hailey and Jay and waited for them. My heart was racing because of  the adrenaline as I imagined everything that coul go wrong. How did he even find out my dad has a daughter? And what does he plan to do with me?  While I was stuck in my worries, Hailey and Jay arrived and immediately noticed how I was.

"It got pretty tense back in there, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine he didn't do anything and I have the details about the deal."

"That's good, so how is it gonna be?"

"It'll be next tuesday in the Old Silos at 5pm, he told him to bring the cash, 32 grand."

"That's all we need, thank you Laura for real, we promise you this is almost over, now it's all up to us, you've got nothing else to be worried about."

"Yeah, not so sure about that."

"What do you mean?"

"There's just this little detail, the man texting my dad told him 'to bring the kid', he wants me to go with my dad to make sure he doesn't try to steal him."

"Has your dad told you this?"

"No, I only found out when I opened the text messages but I never go with my dad, he says he doesn't trust me enough to do it."

"Well we're gonna be there so all you need to do is act normal and we'll do the rest."

"I'm scared of what my dad will do when he realises I've snichted on him."

"When that happens you'll already be in police custody, there's no way he'll get to you."

"He always finds his way to hurt people."

"This time he won't, we'll be there to protect you."
