"Mommy wake up! It's my birthday today, come on!"

"Good morning baby girl!"

"I'm not a baby anymore mommy. I'm 5 years old I'm a grown up like you and daddy!"

"Yes you are. Happy birthday sunshine! Mommy loves you so so much, never forget that, no matter what happens!"

"I love you too mommy, to the moon and back!"

"To the moon and back!"

Jay's POV

"Wake up Laura! It's okay, you're alright it's not real!" I said trying to get Laura to wake up from her nightmare. This events had became rare ever since she started doing therapy, but once in a while they happened again.

After spending almost a minute squirming and screaming Laura finally woke up, she was panting and trying to hold onto anything she could.

"That's it. It's all over now, you're safe sweatheart." I said gently sitting her on my lap. "It's Jay, we're at Hailey's house, you're okay." I said while I rubbed her back, trying to calm Laura down before she had a panick atack.

Her face was burried in my chest and I could feel her tears soking my t-shirt. She kept on crying for a few more minutes until I felt her breathing slow down and she finally spoke to me.

"I'm sorry about waking you up." She said still sobing a little.

"It's okay, I was already awake. You want to talk to me about what happened?"

"I was dreaming about my mom, it was my 5th birthday, the last one we spent together."

"I'm sorry kiddo."

"It's okay, I just miss her sometimes."

"I know, I miss my mom too. She was an amazing woman, she basically built the man I am now, and I couldn't love her more for that."

"I'm sorry about your mom."

"It's okay, I try to remember the good moments I spent with her." I said trying to fight back the tears I had almost falling of my eyes. "It's still 8 am, you should get some more rest, Hailey is still asleep too."

"No, it's okay." She said sliding of my lap. "I need to start packing my stuff for later."

"Okay, I'll be downstairs if you need any help." I answered her back while I left the room.

Today Laura was moving into her new foster home, Voight had talked to some old friends of his and they agreed into taking her in.

Me, Hailey and Laura had gone with them for lunch a few days ago, they were really nice and Laura seemed to get along with them very well, which made me happy because she was finally gonna live the life she deserved.

I was finishing making breakfast for the three of us when a pair of warm small arms wrapped around my waist.

"Good morning." Hailey sad placing a kiss on my back.

"Good morning, you don't usually wake up this early." I said turning around to kiss her too.

"I was feeling lonely without you, besides we need to help Laura getting her things ready."

"She's already packing her stuff upstairs."

"Yeah, I know I went to talk to her. She's really excited, I am too, you know? Laura's finally gonna have the chance to prove the world how much she's worth."

"You really like her don't you?" I asked grabbing her hands.

I mean of course I liked Laura too, over the last month she had turned into a major part of my life, but for Hailey it seemed to be different.

"Yeah, I do, which is why I'm so glad that Voight found this couple, she deserves to live a better life and put all of this behind her back."

Hailey's POV

The hours went flying by fast, we finished helping Laura getting her stuff packed and then watched a movie together. Around 5pm it was time to take Laura to her new foster family and so that's what we did.

When we arrived to the house there was a lady sitting on the front porch reading her book, she noticed our arrivel and so she came to meet us.

"Helen, it's nice to see you." I said while shaking her hand.

"You too Hailey. Jay, Laura." She said also shaking his hand and giving Laura a hug. "Amy is inside making some coffee, you guys want to come in?"

"Sure, we'd love too."

Helen grabbed Laura's bag and we walked into the house, it was warm and cozy and there was a smell of cookies and tea in the air.

We spent some time talking to the couple until it got late and me and Jay decided we to go home and give them some time to be alone and to set Laura's things in her room.

"Amy, the food is great but we should go home, it's getting late." Jay said standing up from the couch.

"Well thank you for spending this little time with us, we'll take good care of Laura and you're free to show up at any time you want." Amy said while she placed her hand in Laura's knee.

"Thank you, we would love to."

We shook hands with the two ladies and then started to head out of the house, Laura walked with us to the door and then hugged me and Jay.

"Thank you for everything." She said with her eyes shinning like crystal.

"You don't need to thank us for anything, we did it because we love you and care about you, Laura." Jay said lowering his body a little so that he could look straight into Laura's eyes.

"Yeah, and besides we'll always be here, anything you need you just have to call us." I said giving her a card with my number.

"I'm gonna miss you guys, if it wasn't for you, I would probably be dead by now or in jail."

"Forget about all of that, now you have a chance to start over. A new beginning."

"A new beginning, it seems nice to me." She said smilling while she hugged me and Jay for the last time before she got into the house to be with her new family.
