(Y/n) thought today would be a normal day. They would get up, shower and prepare, then go to work like any other day. However, this was not one of those days.

Today, they couldn't even get out of bed, due to the overwhelming anxiety that they suddenly got when they woke up. It was so bad, it gave them a headache.

While (Y/n) laid their, hating the moments that could have potentially lead up to this point, they were so zoned out, they failed to notice a weird hand appearing behind them.

They closed their eyes, hoping the pain would go away, before their body was painfully dragged through the portal. They almost screamed, but they couldn't.

It was like their vocal cords stopped working. In reality, they were actually experiencing sleep paralysis. If they weren't such a heavy sleeper, the force from being dragged into an unknown portal would have woken them up.

Once the hand had pulled them all the way through, it dropped their body on the ground, which eventually woke them up. (Y/n) gasped for air, clutching their chest.

It felt like they were suffocating for a minute. Once their lungs started to calm down, (Y/n) looked around, before they froze in fear. There were objects all around them.

Not just any objects, but ones with faces and limbs. When one of them blinked, they felt a shiver run down their spine. One of them spoke, and they noticed this one was a number.

"This right here is today's challenge!" The number spoke with a scratchy voice. (Y/n) winced a little at the sound. "For four hours, the sun will be destroyed, leaving everyone in total darkness!"

(Y/n) felt their anxiety levels rise a bit higher when they heard that. "Your objective will be to find this human, and stick with them in the dark, last team to find..." The number paused.

Suddenly, they leaned over towards (Y/n), causing them to flinch. "What's your name again?" They whispered. "...(Y-Y/n)...?" The number nodded.

"The last team to find (Y/n) will be up for elimination!" The number suddenly smiles wickedly, and fires a lazer hand at the sun. Everything goes dark.

"Time starts now!" They laugh, as you feel your anxiety rise even higher. "Wait. That doesn't make sense." Someone speaks up. "When the sun dies, the earth won't go dark immediately. It would take several weeks for the sun to go out...and it would be a lot colder-"

The number sighed loudly. "Stop questioning physics and get to the challenge already!" You stumbled through the dark, managing to avoid many of the sentient objects.

The voices started to sound far away from you, making you sigh in relief. Until someone covered your mouth and started to drag you somewhere.

Trying to fight back, you struggled against the object, only to be hushed. "Stop, I'm only trying to help!" An odd voice sighed, sounding oddly bored.

You paused for a moment, thinking it over. You decided to let the object lead you to wherever they were trying to take you. Once you were there, you could hear echoing.

Then, you heard the sounds of rocks scraping against rocks. Finally, a luminescent glow filled the room. The object sighed, and you could finally see who they were.

They were a living Lollipop, purple in color, with a white stick for a body. It took you a moment, but you could recognize what gender they were.

This lollipop was a she. Holding a glow stick in her hand, she faintly smiled. "Finally away from those teammates of mine." She scowled slightly, rolling her eyes.

"You would not believe how annoying some of them are." You weren't sure how to respond, you couldn't exactly look her in the eye. She seemed to notice this.

"Have you ever been here before, or is it your first time in this world?" She asked. "U-Um...well, n-no." You answered, still looking down.

The lollipop scooted closer to you, making your breath hitch. "So you are really a human then, huh?" You nodded. More silence. Seemed the lollipop couldn't stand awkward silence.

"I know you're shy." She said in a matter-of-fact manner. "That's why I brought you here, to adjust to your surroundings." She placed a hand on your shoulder, and your heart beat faster.

She looked at you, a kind smile on her face. Your face heated up, thankfully masked by the green glow of the glow stick she held in her other hand.

"Since you were already introduced to me, I should probably introduce myself." She chuckled. "I'm Lollipop. Welcome to our weird little side of the universe."

You felt a small smile stretch onto your face, and nodded. "H-Hi." Lollipop took her hand off your shoulder, and instead, wrapped it around your side.

She pulled you close to her, and you flinched. Once again, she looked at you with a kind smile. "You're so tense, there's nothing to fear."

She looked at the cave entrance, which had been blocked off by the secret stone entrance. "We have three hours, but after that, we have to move and find the other teams."

Looking back down at you, she had a smug look on her face. "Otherwise it wouldn't be exactly fair to the other competitors." You felt oddly at peace with her.

Like you could trust her. Just as she promised, you got to relax during those three hours, relaxing with her and talking about different things.

You learned the names of everyone competing, the contests, the drama between each of the teams, and so much more. "And I kid you not," Lollipop spoke, fork repellent in hand.

"Book is still on Taco's case about the whole "abandonment" situation!" She rolled her eyes, shaking the can. You let out a small laugh.

"D-Don't you mean: B-Book is still on Taco's shell?" You joked, laughing silently. Lollipop laughed in a monotone way, but you had been with her long enough to know that it was a genuine laugh.

"Now that...that is a good one!" You smiled, a radiant, warm feeling fluttering in your chest. "I think you would definitely get along with Gelatin."

Wincing slightly, you rubbed the back of your neck. "I-I think I-I'm fine with one f-friend for now..." Lollipop nodded in understanding, leaning against her knee.

"Surely you have more friends back in your universe." She stated, a questioning look on her face. You suddenly felt embarrassed. Because of your shy nature, you never really had friends.

Lollipop noticed your flustered state, resting her non-existent chin on her knees. "Well, I'm glad I'm your first." She stated, smirking slightly.

You smiled back at her, trying not to blush at the smirk. She suddenly got up, grabbing your hand. "Time to start finishing up the challenge."

She threw the glow stick deep into the cave, and it was dark again. The sounds of grinding stone filled the void, and you two walked out into the darkness.

You were going to like it here. Especially now that you had a new friend, and a new crush.

When the sun was restored, the teams cheered. "Team Ice Cube is up for elimination! Viewers, vote using the square brackets who you want to leave the show!"

After Four's spiel, he stretched. "Thanks again for helping out (Y/n). Even if it was against your will." He looked at them, who was still holding Lollipop's hand.

He smirked, chuckling slightly. "Wow, you both are really attached to each other." (Y/n) laughed nervously. "Literally..." Lollipop lifted both of their hands up, shaking them.

"We're both stuck like this. Same thing happened with the glow stick you gave me the last episode, Four." Four frowned, gaining a nervous look.

"Glow stick?" He repeated. "That wasn't a glow stick..." Both of Lollipop and (Y/n)'s faces fell. "What?" Lollipop asked, slightly frustrated.

"I gave you a glue stick...to be fair, it did glow in the dark." Four answered, tapping his fingers together. Lollipop glared at him. "Do you mean to tell me I was using a glue stick this entire time?!"

Four was silent for a minute. "Yes."

Lollipop glared at him, balling her fists. She sighed, relaxing, then stared to the side with a slight blush on her face. "I suppose it could be worse..."

She looked at (Y/n) from a side glance. "I could be stuck with someone more annoying... and less cute." (Y/n) blushed, covering her mouth with her free hand.

Four laughed. "That's the spirit! Gotta go bye!" He said quickly and ran off. Lollipop gasped in surprise and annoyance. "THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE WANT TO STAY LIKE THIS! GET BACK HERE!"

She started to run after him, dragging (Y/n) behind her. It was official. (Y/n) knew she was going to like it here.
