“Done and dusted.” Ye Lingchen turned off Weibo then turned to face Sister Lin and Xiao Feifei. They looked at him speechlessly and smiled bashfully.

“Your Weibo fan count just doubled. How do you attract fans through anything you do? I am a little bit jealous.” Xiao Feifei said, glaring slightly at Ye Lingchen.

She still recalled when he first came to Beijing, Ye Lingchen relied on the issue of the road scam to fan the flames on Tik Tok. At the time if Ye Lingchen had stepped forward and admitted his identity, taking in more than 100,000 fans would not be impossible.

However, who would have thought that now, just by relying on throwing insults Ye Lingchen could attract fans. That was frankly terrifying.

“I can’t help it. Sometimes being too talented is a curse in itself.” Ye Lingchen said as he shook his head in dismay.

Xiao Feifei did not reply and only rolled her eyes.

However, differing from Ye Lingchen and Xiao Feifei, Sister Lin’s brows were constantly furrowed, and she sighed softly, “Even if you won the insult feud, Shi Lei has already achieved his goal, the shameless assh*le!”

“What’s wrong?”

“He always intended to ride on Y’s popularity, and now that the flames had reached their zenith, he has successfully publicized his movie,”

“The old fox!” huffed Xiao Feifei.

Shi Lei had been in the entertainment industry for many years, and had an arsenal of gimmicks and tricks up his sleeve.

“He intends to step on me to gain publicity? I’m sorry, but he’s getting ahead of himself!” Ye Lingchen’s eyes flashed slightly, as he mumbled to himself.

Following that, Ye Lingchen and Xiao Feifei chatted idly for a while more, before they both got up to say goodbye.

After sending the two wolf pups back to the hostel, Ye Lingchen’s 3 roommates were not back yet. They probably were watching the special Basketball training.

With nothing to do, Ye Lingchen went to a cyber cafe and played 2 games of DOTA with Coold. Throughout those games, the number 666 was spammed in the chat by fans who watched his stream. Then, at 7 sharp, he live-streamed “Grave Robber’s Chronicles”.

At 9 the live stream ended and Ye Lingchen went home.

It would seem that no matter what he did he’d encounter a bottleneck, and it was the same with gaining popularity.

After a few big stories, Ye Lingchen’s popularity growth had stalled. This was a perfectly understandable situation since, without any new incidents or content, growth would stagnate.

As he walked, Ye Lingchen thought hard about how to increase his popularity.

Since he refused to reveal his face, he was greatly limited in his ability to partake in normal activities like a normal star.

He wanted to be famous, but if he didn’t stir the pot for a long time, he would very quickly become irrelevant and forgotten.

Continuing to do live streams was a method of getting there, but it was a pity that his growth in popularity was not as exponential as when he first started.

How about… writing a novel?

If it came to it, pretend to be superhuman?

Ye Lingchen was looking forward to developing and raising his rank in knowledge and proficiencies. If the basic level was already this impressive, how much more impressive would the intermediate and advanced proficiencies be?
