"Okay, Derek, you are going to have to give me a second here." Riley paused what she was doing, "so you're telling me there is a book called a bestiary and the hunters have it. I'm unsure of what a hunter is. What do they hunt?" Riley asks, still unsure about the supernatural. It was her lunch break and Derek had called her. Derek, Scott, and Stiles were involved in a car chase this morning because when Riley and Elijah woke up he was gone. Then, they heard about a car chase on the radio.

Derek scowls, "Are you even trying to keep up? Hunters. Hunt. Werewolves. I have a translated Bestiary, but it's in a safe and I can't remember the code. Normally, only hunters have bestiaries, but my mom knew archaic Latin and translated one to English in case I ever needed it."

"Okay, I'm understanding now. Hunters are bad. We have a book that could figure out what Elijah is, but we don't have access to it." Riley spoke confidently, feeling as though she was finally getting it. "So if Elijah's a werewolf, then the hunters will hunt him. Who are the hunters?"

"You know that girl Scott's dating? Her father is an Argent. The word Argent in French means silver. It's a whole family of hunters. Allison doesn't know, I'm pretty sure, but this might not turn out good."

"Hold on. Isn't Scott a werewolf? I thought you said he was a werewolf. Why would he date a hunter?" Riley asked, confused.

"Because he thinks he's in love. I don't know. Stiles and him are both idiots. Back to the point, I don't know if Laura changed it before... She died, but we are going to have to steal one from the Argents. I don't even know if Chris would have it. Gerard might. We need Gerard to come back."

"I'm going to pretend like I know who Gerard is, okay? For the sake of both of our sanities. So you think if we can get this Gerard guy to come back then we can get the bestiary from him."

"No, I can't. You have to become friends with Chris. Kate is a lunatic try to stay away from her as much as possible. She's crazy. If you think you might get hurt we'll figure something else out." Derek was concerned. He didn't know why. The emotions took over and he found himself saying that. He had no other plan. All he knew was he didn't want Riley to get hurt. He convinced himself it was for Elijah. That he couldn't be a father without Riley being there, but deep down he knew it was something deeper. He felt it that night and he feels it again. "Who is picking up Elijah, today?"

"Stiles. He'll probably take him to his house. Do you have a picture of Chris? I'll need to know what he looks like. Chris is a common name."

"Yes, I just randomly have a picture of a hunter in my phone." Derek deadpanned, sarcastically.

"There is no need for that hostility. Can you describe him?" Riley said with a sickly sweet smile on her face, even though Derek couldn't see it he knew what face she was making.

"Yeah, he's about mid-forties to early fifties. He has this like dirty blonde hair with some gray hairs in it and He has a beard but it's mostly just gray, especially in the front."

"Okay, that helps. I know that was hard for you. My lunch breaks over so I have to go. Text me if you find anything." Derek hangs up the phone after she stops talking.

Riley breathes in, "I thought that would happen," she says to herself and then gets back to work.

Stiles picked Elijah up from school. The ride home was filled with them blasting songs by The Beatles. When they got to Stiles's house, Elijah immediately ran up to Stiles's room. He got out Stiles's old toy that he kept for Elijah and laid on the bed on his stomach. Stiles came into the room and sat down in his chair. Neither boy noticed Derek enter the room.
