AURA GASPED ONCE THEY stopped their small climb. Tyson grinned and set the cooler down, spreading his arms wide for her to look at everything. She stepped forward, taking in the beautiful view.

The sea glistened from afar, and when she looked down from her high altitude, it seemed to wink at her from below. Jagged rocks were bathed in the salty water and foam as the sea went back and forth, attempting to get deeper into the land. Right below her, grass grew happily, covering the open space of the cliff in a soft green rug. Stubborn dandelions stood tall and proud in random spaces, making the area in front of her look like a fairytale dream.

A cliché red and white checkered blanket spread over their designated spot, beside where Tyson placed his cooler. He sat down and motioned for her to join him.

"Tyson, this is...wow." She couldn't even form a coherent sentence as she knelt down beside him. A chirpy bumblebee flew past her ear, buzzing away contentedly. She bit down a smile and turned to Tyson, who gazed at her with a brilliant smile of his own.

"Do you like it?" He asked.

"It's gorgeous," she squealed. Before she could register it herself, she pulled out her phone from the back pocket of her distressed denim shorts and took a small video of the area. She posted it on her socials for private eyes only. "This is one heck of an apology."

"Ha ha," Tyson sarcastically remarked. "I've been meaning to bring you here anyway."

He opened his cooler and brought out a wrapped platter of fruits. She raised an eyebrow and watched as he brought out another plate with carefully cut cheese, crackers, and ham. Finally, he pulled out two bottles of lemonade: her favorite.

"Okay, this is cute," she admitted. He smiled, and began to unwrap one of the platters.

They ate in peace. Tyson fed her a grape before the two erupted in laughter. Aura fed him a cube of cheese, and the giggling continued. It was all a sensation of elation that she was not used to.

Tyson scooted closer to her, claiming he wanted to get more crackers. Aura smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. They munched on their snacks, staring over at the waving sea. The salty air almost lulled her to sleep, but with Tyson speaking every once in a while, she preferred to stay up to listen to his words.

He rambled on about his little carpentry business. Apparently his latest clients were happy with his services. The cabinets were up to standards. They also promised him they would spread the word out, so he was hoping for more clients soon enough.

"Are you happy?" She found herself asking.

He pondered for a second. "Well, it's not what I pictured my life to be, but I guess I'm okay. Plus, you came along and now I feel...complete."

"Yeah?" She tilted her head to see him flush. "I make you complete?"

Tyson let out a nervous chuckle but nodded. Then it was her turn to blush. She buried her face into his shoulder, silently thanking her past self for choosing today to not wear any makeup.

"You are a force of nature, Aura Chandler," he said, tilting her chin up with his fingers. She got lost in those dark orbs of his. Her heart skipped at their close proximity. She wasn't sure if he would do it, but, for the first time ever, she was afraid to kiss someone.

She pulled back, biting back a smile. Her fingers reached for a lone grape on the platter before them. She trembled from head to toe, but did her best to suppress it.

"So...um I heard that you went out with some chick," she started. She eyed the grape in her hands before popping it in her mouth. She swallowed quickly and turned to Tyson. "Millie Moore?"
