"She knows," James said in a dull tone, nodding towards his friends.
"...She knows," Peter nodded back.
"She knows," Sirius sounded quite proud about it.
"Of course she knows, you bird brains," Remus rolled his eyes. "(Y/n)'s not clueless. If she saw Peter transform, there's no way she wouldn't be aware."
"Thank you, Remus," you smiled at him and sneered at the other three. "So yeah, I know. I've known for a while, actually. Months and months of knowing and not saying anything."
"I applaud you for being that mentally strong. I would've broken and asked on the second day," James clapped. "But now you know another of our Marauder secrets."
"James, I understand this is important," you said. "But is it really necessary to call it a marauder secret? And could you please try not to sound as if you're about to kill me to keep me quiet?"
"She's got a point, Prongs," Sirius laughed, shuffling his best mate's hair.
"That's what I get for being around you too much. Your dramatic attitude brushes off on me," the latter replied, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "But really though. Now someone that's not us knows not only that Moony's a werewolf, but that us three are animagi."
"(Y/n)'s not just anyone, though," Remus, the voice of reason, interfered. "I, for one, am okay with the fact she knows I'm a werewolf."
"Same... goes for me with her knowing I'm an animagus," Peter mumbled. "I wouldn't have transformed in front of her that night of the full moon if I didn't trust (y/n) could keep the secret."
"I don't get it," you cleared your throat to catch the attention of the four. "Why are you all so secretive about it? You're animagi, not fugitives. Professor McGonagall is an animagus, and she doesn't- oh. OH. Don't tell me- you guys are unregistered animagi, aren't you?"
"No! I mean- the thing is... Well... yeah," Sirius replied, scratching the back of his head.
"Oh, Merlin," you facepalmed. "First, I learn Sirius has an unregistered Muggle flying motorbike, and now you tell me you three are unregistered animagi."
"She knows about the bike?" James nudged Sirius's shoulder.
"Yes! I forgot to tell you! I flew it over the holidays with her, and she got scared," he replied with a smirk.
"I did not get scared," you frowned. "And that's not the point here. You three are unregistered animagi. Honestly, go figure. Is there something else I should know?"
The four of them eyed each other silently at your question. "You know what? Spare me from any more secrets for now," you said. "Now you've got me thinking... Why? Registering at the ministry as an animagus is available to the public, so it's accessible. Plus, it's required by the Wizard law. So at least tell me that."
"Before you get any ideas, it's definitely not to commit crimes or run away from three Muggle cop cars on a cloudy summer night," James cleared his throat.
"That was oddly specific for it to be just an example," you raised an eyebrow and crossed your arms over your chest.
"I have a colorful imagination," he defended. "All you have to know is that we didn't register for bad reasons."
"You can trust them on that," Remus reassured. "They did it for me. To be with me during my transformations without risk of getting lycanthropy. The ministry would probably never allow them to become animagi, and it would raise suspicion for my... condition."
