I stay in the waiting room for five more minutes until I hear my name being called. I hesitate for a moment, I really do want to see Drew; but, at the same time, I am scared that... he will never wake up...
Tears well up in my eyes. But, I blinked them back, refusing to cry now.
"Oh. My. God!" I hear Sarah's excited voice coming from the emergency room. The doors burst open and she runs up to me and hugs me.
"Whoa! Sunshine, are you good?" Sarah released herself from the embrace. "How many time do I need to tell you?" I roll my eyes.
"Whatever. So, why are you so happy?" I ask. Sarah clears her throat. "Your brother has successfully passed the surgery!" Her smile fades when she speaks again. "But, the flu is still a bit high. His fever is up to 102. I think it would be best if he goes home today; if the fever spikes up to 104 or higher, call me. Okay?"
I nod in understanding. We both hug each other. She leads me to the room Drew is staying in.
'Do not worry, Drew. You will be okay.' I thought to myself.
