You opened your eyes to find yourself in a dark room, where the only thing projecting light was you. You got up and looked for a door in this room. It felt so familiar, but at the same time something felt off. You finally had placed your hands on a door knob, throwing open the wooden slab with all your force.
Your knees were wobbling and you had to hold your head as a migraine began to make its home in your brain. It was like you were trying to remember something, but your brain didn't want you to know what it was. You were walking down the same dark hallway, lined with paintings and portraits. These paintings looked familiar, but like something you've yet to see. There were train stations, the Coliseum, your very own house up in flames, and many other places. You began to get fed up with the endless hall and decided to run, hoping to find an end to this hell.
After what felt like years, you finally reached the end of the dark hallway. The door to the next room was golden, lined with the mafia's symbol, a lion. You slowly grabbed the door knob, only for it to begin opening without your help. You stepped into the room beyond the door, only to find yourself in a house, a mansion to be exact.
You used to live here, this was your childhood home. You walked to the overlook that was above the living room after hearing an assortment of voices from down there. You looked over to find your mother, brother, and you, all cowering in the corner. Your eyes widened, knowing that this was the day that your mother and brother were killed.
You looked around for your father, seeing if he was being held hostage or at gunpoint. Your eyes had locked onto your fathers figure, only to not see him cowering in fear like the rest of you, but holding the arrow towards you all with a wicked smile plastered across his face. You were only 4 or 5 when your mom was murdered, explaining why you couldn't remember these events.
You father walked towards you, who was currently being held tightly in your mothers arms. She began yelling his name, telling him to stop, but his gaze never faltered and neither did his grin. He motioned for two of his men to grab you, but they hesitated. You knew that they were scared of him like this, power hungry and completely insane.
The two men then grabbed you and took you over to your father, standing you up in front of him. To your surprise, you weren't crying, you just stood there staring at your father with a blank expression. He smiles and crouches down to your level, moving a peice of your hair out of your eyes, something he did quite a lot.
"See, this is how I know you'll be worthy (Y/N). You will be worthy to be a god one day, but not now. I know that eventually, you'll be strong enough physically to accept the arrow's fate. " You smiled up at your father. You didn't understand what he was saying, only knowing that when he used his soft voice it meant he was proud of you, which you were happy of. He began to walk away with you holding his pinky as he held the arrow in the other hand.
"Kill em'. They're too weak to accept the gift of the gods." Your father said sternly as his men drew their guns. You could only look on in shock and surprise. You didn't even notice the tears pooling around your chin, causing your shirt to become damp. You flinched and whimpered as the trigger was pulled, killing your mother and brother as they held eachother close. You could only scream as your father walked away with his hand wrapped around your much smaller one.
"(Y/N)..."
"(Y/N)..."
"(Y/N)!"
You jolted from your sleep and looked around to find the source of the voice. It was Tom. He was holding your hand with a panicked look on his face. You finally calmed down enough to realize you were in your bedroom at your current home. The relief soon flooded your body as your posture relaxed.
