"Can I go see him now?" Veronica asked desperately
Veronica Riddle was now in Dumbledore's office with the man just pacing around the room and not answering any of the girl's questions. She assumed she was going to get detention from what she did to James or even be expelled but still, here she was.
"James is resting Veronica, he really needs to after that spell hit him" Dumbledore told the girl
"I don't know what got over me" she mumbled
"The horcrux did, it contained very powerful dark magic that made you become your darkest self" The Headmaster told the young girl
"Where's the ring?" She asked
"Mr. Black gave it to me and I sent it to your brother, he will keep it safe" Dumbledore replied
The room fell silent again, Dumbledore had always have to be so misterious pacing around his office.
"So aren't you going to expell me?" Veronica asked the old man
"Of course not!" Dumbledore exclaimed
"But I got Potter to the Hospital Wing" the girl said surprised about that, she really thought she would already be on her way home
"You were manipulated, Veronica. I consider it was not your fault" the wise man told her
Veronica was nervous, she knew she wasn't going to be expelled but she needed to get some things out of her chest. Because she was now afraid, she had just seen what she was capable of.
"I thought about all those things, Professor. I knew what I was doing all the time" Veronica Riddle admitted
"I know" Dumbledore stopped pacing and turned around to face her "We all have light and dark in ourselves Veronica, it's out decision which one we let guide us" the Professor spoke with wise words
"It's kind of hard searching for the light being part of my family" Veronica sighed
"You've already met your darkest self, now it's up to you to decide who you want to become" Dumbledore spoke "I believe maybe it's fine if you go see Mr. Potter" he said
Veronica was happy, Dumbledore was letting her see James, but a thought passed through her mind and her smile fell. James will want to kill her.
"He will be happy to see you" Dumbledore said without Veronica saying anything
"I really hope so" the gurl sighed

Veronica stumbled into the Hospital Wing and stopped right in front of the door. She hesitated entering but before she could, someone came out of the door.
"Look who's here" Sirius Black exclaimed when he saw the girl about to go into the Hospital Wing
"Uhm...hi" she said insecure
"I'm not going to yell at you so chill, I'm not mad" Sirius said trying to make her relax
"What?" The gurl replied confused, she expected everyone to be furious at her but none were
"Dumbledore explained everything, you were manipulated Riddle, it's alright" The boy said making Veronica smile softly
"I hope he's not mad either" Veronica sighed looking at the door of the Hospital Wing
"He was when he first woke but after we told him everything he just wanted to see you" the black haired boy said
"Really?" Veronica smiled with hope in her eyes
"Really, Riddle" Sirius chuckled at her reaction "Just go inside he's awake. A but tired but he will be glad you came" the boy replied
"Thank you Sirius" The young Riddle smiled genuinely
"It's alright. Take care of my mate or I will be the one killing you" he yelled already walking away from Veronica
She inhaled deeply and opened the door of the Hospital Wing. Inside James Potter was laying down on one of the beds at the corner.
Veronica made her way towards in, her shoes clicking with each step she took making James turn to face her.
Her dark eyes met his bright blue ones and she swore that the world stopped, for the first time in her whole life Veronica Riddle did not know what to say.
"Hi" she smiled softly
"Hey" James replied
She looked at him and saw all the cuts in his chest and abdomen. She had done that to him and even if she regretted it deeply now, when she did it she did not feel anything, not until Regulus took her ring away from her.
"I don't even know what to say, Potter" Veronica stood close to him
"It's alright, I wanted to see you" James smiled back
"I've been with Dumbledore all this time, I'd come sooner if I could but I didn't know if it was appropiate" she admitted
"Probably not, I wanted to kill you when I woke up but Dumbledore explained everything and it all made sense, you had been acting weird since Christmas" The blue eyed Potter explained
"I even know why I did that, I had no reason to struck you with that. Look at you now, I can't believe I've done this" Veronica exclaimed placing a hand on his chest tracing the scars she had left
"You also saved me when Black took off your ring" James placed his own hand on top of hers
"It was the least I could do" Veronica said
"I have to thank you for that anyway" James showed her his charming smile
They were silent for a few moments, staring at each other until Veronica decided to speak.
"I could've killed you" she mumbled
"But you didn't and that's what matters now" James assured her
Veronica and James talked for a bit more until Madame Pomfrey told the girl to leave, James had to rest. They said their goodbyes and she left, now happy that Potter wasn't mad at her.
The girl now made her way back to the dungeons and into the Slytherin common room, she had now to face Narcissa Black.
