I closed my eyes for a second, a momentous second and as I opened my eyes I wished that was my last blink. The truck was driving towards the cottage and the man next to me smiled as he looked over my body.
"What- what are we doing back here? No-no don't bring me back here", I yelled at him as I clawed at his skin, hoping he wouldn't leave me here alone. The truck stopped in front and a worried Daniel came out of the door, that is after he saw me he was relieved.
"You never told me she was so beautiful and she looks so young for being 43, she looks as old as my daughter who just finished college, I mean your wife is hysterical but hot", their voices muffled as I tried clawing myself out of the truck, knowing they would catch me if I did, I had myself and that was it and no one was coming to save me. I would do every single thing I could to get out of this hell-hole. And that's when I felt the breeze from the car window.
"She's just having a rough day today, she was exhausted from last night, she was in the mood and so we just went at it", he smirked as I climbed through the driver seats window.
They heard a loud thud as they quickly diverted from their conversation and ran to the side of the car. I began running in the forest as a man picked me up by my torso, I squirmed and squirmed as I elbowed him in the jaw and he fell back. He groaned as I kept running forward while attaching himself to my heel as I stepped on his hand. The man held onto my heel as I felt a sharp pain into my neck and my eyes closed suddenly.
"Relax man, it's just a sedative the hospital gave to calm her down, she just has bad PTSD, and some other mental issues, relax", my face lied against a soft plush couch, as I overheard their hostile conversation.
"It's really an amazing thing you're doing, I mean if I had a crazy wife I'd send her to a home, but you're really taking care of her", the other man said as it relieved me, some relief I had in a while. He was my ticket out of here, if he knew what happened behind closed doors he would take me out of here, he had a daughter of his own.
"Does it happen often?", he asked Daniel as I didn't hear a word from Daniel's mouth.I knew exactly what this man was taking about and all I thought was only if he knew.
"That is just messed up no father should beat their child", I heard Daniel agree, and I wished I could punch his lying ass all the way to Australia.
"I haven't had anytime to run to the store, it's just been so busy with her, would you mind staying here", I almost squealed at the thought of Daniel leaving the house. I stayed quiet as I heard them both walk out of the room and a lock clicked. I opened my eyes suddenly, as I began to wander where I was. This wasn't my normal cage, it was Daniel's room as I examined the ash tray next to me. I got out of the lowered and lopsided bed.
I knocked on the door hoping the man would come and he would unknowingly let me out of the room.
"Lorelai, Hi, uh Daniel had to go to the store, I'm John", he said introducing himself as I fully remembered him. It was my chance.
"I need help, please, I'm not Lorelai, she's dead, my name is Natalie I'm married to my husband in Seattle, Daniel is sick he's on drugs and he thinks I'm her, you have to let me out of here", I begged to him as I knew my life depended on it, I couldn't see his eyes, all I heard was his steady breathing.
"You need to go back to bed", he said in a steady voice, but he sounded aggressive. Something in his voice told me that he just needed to be convinced that my story was true.
