-You knew Giyuu for a long time you leaved near his state and would wave at him. Whenever he left for a mission, or went to a hashira meeting he would see you and ignore you, as time went on he started waving back at you. Since then it would become his first thing in the morning to say hi to you, one time when he found out you weren't home and he thought you were dead for a minute. Got worried and checked your house to find you passed out on the floor. In resume: He treasures the moment you first waved at him and it will stay like that forever

-You guys were neighbors, you would always play together as kids. When you were moving out of that town, you were sad because you wouldn't see him again or, so you thought. You joined the demon slayer corps and became close friends with Kanao since you'd always get paired together. One day at the butterfly state, he walked through the door boy it took only 1 seconds for you to recognize each other, you guys caught up with eachother and he ended up introducing you to Tanjiro and the others(aka his adopted children) 

-You met him on your first hashira meeting, which took place on Tanjiro's interrogation, he was being a prick and you called him out of it. If Oyakata-Sama had not been there you would have both throwed hands, he indercticly apologized by refusing to fight you. After that you have always joked around by pretending to throw hands
