Always at work...

Hunter was 4...

It was an early morning hunter sat at the table patiently waiting for the breakfast that Bluey was cooking.

Jean walked into the kitchen from upstairs already in his police attire.

"going to work already?" Bluey asked

"yeah. I have to take the early shift." Said Jean running the back of his head

"aw dad you said we can play one game before you went to work" hunter said in disappointment

"I'm really sorry hunter. My schedule changed..." Said Jean giving a frown

He picked hunter up and kissed him on the forehead. And put him down.

And then kissed Bluey.

"ok I gotta go. I'll see you later! I love you guys!" Said Jean as he walked out of the door

"bye daddy..." max said in sadness and disappointment

"bye honey!" Said bluey

Jean then drove off to patrol downtown.

After breakfast hunter exused himself from the table

He went into the backyard and kicked around a ball for a few minutes before laying under a tree with a tear in his eye.

Bluey walked out

"hey hunter what's wrong?" Bluey asked with concern

"daddy is always working." Said hunter sadly

"he works a lot to protect people like us. His job is really busy and dangerous. He wants to play with you! But sometimes his schedule changes..." said bluey as she sat down next to him and petted his head

"why?" Hunter asked

"his job requires a lot of time. There are a lot of bad people that want to hurt good people. People like us! him,grandpa and aunt bingo and a lot of our family work hard to help and protect these people!" Bluey exclaimed

"I understand mommy... it's just sometimes I really miss him. It makes me sad that he can't play with me..." said hunter as he cuddled up to bluey

"I know honey. I miss him a lot when he's at work to. I promise he will play a ton of games once he has his days off" said bluey with a smile

"ok mommy. I feel a little better..." said hunter giving a small smile and slowly wagging his tail

"don't worry sweetie. Hey do you wanna play game with me?" Bluey asked happily

"yeah!" Said hunter finally happy again!

And in the middle of their pretend shop game the door opened. It was Jean!

"daddy!" Hunter exclaimed in surprise and joy

"why are you back so early?!" Bluey asked in joy and disbelief

"I got some vacation days! You know what that means hunter?" Jean asked excitedly

"a ton of games!" Hunter exclaimed

Hunter cheered and ran to Jean

Jean picked him up twirling him in the air
Causing him to laugh

"oh yeah bingo and grandpa also have some days off to!" Said Jean

"awesome!" Hunter exclaimed

Jean joined their game and had a fun day with hunter. A day he wasn't able to have for a really long time!
