I was rushed to the hospital. If I didn't get there fast, the donation might be lost to someone else. Luckily, when I arrived, no one was in queue at the concierge.

"Excuse me, I've come to get a lung donation?" I asked the lady at the concierge. She looked up at me with cold eyes. "I'm sorry, but someone else has already taken it." She talked about a lung like it was just an object I had come to claim. I stared at her in disbelief.

"What do you mean, someone else?" My mother squeezed my hand from beside me. "That was supposed to be mine!" I was on the verge of tears. The lady glared at me.

"That wasn't yours. You were too slow. Now, if you're not going to ask for anything, I would rather you don't hold up the queue." I turned back to see a whole line of patients behind me. Sulkily, I turned away.

I knew I was being selfish. However, who wouldn't angry when they had come to get a donation, just to find out that it had gone?
