"i think i'll be alright" Esme joked, creating a shocked expression on Zach's face. "i'm kidding!"

"you're gonna be so bored without me" Zach added, with a small laugh. "you're not gonna be able to focus"

"lucky for me, you're not leaving until the fifteenth" Esme smiled, flipping the pancakes. "just after my birthday"

"i've gotta get something for you" Zach sighed. "what do you want?"

"nothing" Esme claimed, placing the plate of pancakes on the table. "i don't need anything"

"never mind i know what to get you" Zach said, making the girl sigh in defeat. "do you mind if i message payton about it"

"yeah" Esme spoke, sitting down opposite the boy. "if you want, she might be a bit 'aggressive' though"

"she's great, don't get me wrong" Esme paused, as the boy looked at her with interest. "she's just protective over her friends"
