Toph x reader injury

"Chief, move there's a huge rock launching towards you."

"Where?" Toph asks, looking around.

The rock was launching in the air, so she couldn't see.

I push Toph out of the way, taking the hit.

"Y/n, Y/n, wake up." Was the last thing I heard before I blacking out.

"Ugh," I groan. "Why does it feel like I've been hit by a huge rock?"

"Cause you did." Toph chuckles a bit.

"Toph? What happened?"

"You took the hit for me kid, why?"

I shake my head, remembering what happened.

"Oh yeah, there was a huge rock coming your way, I called out your name three times but you didn't hear, so I guess I just pushed you out the way." I explained.

"Really,Y/n , you could have died," Toph sighs. "I've been in the infirmary with you for 2 weeks now."

"2 weeks!" I gasp.

"Yeah, you're not coming to work, anytime soon."

"But Chief, I'm fine." I say, trying to get up from the bed but wince.

"See!" Toph yells.

"I'm sorry."

"Y/n, answer my question, why did you take the hit for me?"

"Because Chief, I like you, okay? I've liked you for a long time now. You're so passionate, beautiful, and driven, I love everything about you. I couldn't let you get hurt."

I see Toph slip a tear but quickly wipe it away. "No one has ever talked about me like that. Thank you."

"Anything for you Chief."

"And I like you too." Toph says, punching my arm.

"Nice to know." I wince.

"Oh, sorry, you're already hurt, I shouldn't have done that."

"You think?" I respond.

"I'll go get the wheelchair." Toph says, walking away.
