Forgiveness

Charlatans in expensive suits

Preach forgiveness,

Yet go on offending.

You hypocrites!

Don't blaspheme truth.

Don't suggest you have

Anything to do with

Any god who's good.

Quit pretending!

Clowns in robes and vestments,

One day calling differences

Of race and faith

Grounds for murder,

Whilst the next day

Preaching peace!

To all you pretenders to the Light,

I say, ask no mercy for yourselves

Until that improbable hour

When, on your knees,

You publicly confess

That in  your hearts

You've never bowed to

Any gods

But Wealth and Power,

That those two

You love best.
