"DUDE DO YOU THINK SHE'S STILL ALIVE?" one guys whispers but i could clearly hear them.

here i am sitting in front of an empty canvas holding a paint brush drenched in paint. i dont know how long i've been staring at the white piece in front of me, looking down paint droplets were falling on the floor from the brush.

a loud smack followed by an 'ow' was heard.

"shut up j" another guy whisper shouts.

"hey, have some food" someone shakes me gently. i didn't make the effort to look at who it was.

"not hungry" i mutter

"come on, you haven't eaten all day, at least just have one bite" he slides a burger in front of me.

"you can have it" i slide it back over

he takes it and holds it in front of my mouth, "take one bite, please, even just a small one"

i sigh taking a small bite from the burger chewing it slowly.

"i'll just leave this here, okay?" he says. i finally turn my head to look at vinnie who puts the food down. i give him a weak smile resting my head on my hands.

he smiles at me before patting my shoulder and standing up.

i finally sign the piece propped up in front of me. i place the white pen down and wiped my hand on a dirty towel.

i stared at it for a good minute before i started tearing up.

flashback

"oh come on you asswipe!" i yell as he won the race towards the swing.

"you lose, dipshit" he whispers the last word not wanting our mom to hear

i gasp, "im gonna tell mom"

i started to run away but he tackled me to the sand and starts tickling me

"s-stop no! mommy!" i yell but i could only hear our mom laugh

"you're not telling her anything" he threatens while still tickling me

"o-okay i wont!" he finally stops and gets off me offering his hand.

i take it and started running towards the swing completely getting on it.

i push my legs attempting to swing higher

"hey!" aidan whines

i stick my tongue out and kept swinging

"i wanna go higher!" it was my turn to whine

"okay! are you ready to fly to the space full of aliens and planets by the great strong almighty aidan!?" he stands behind me

"yes!" i yell giggling with excitement

"3...2...1...takeoff!" he pushes with all his strength

*click* flash*

end of flashback

"are you okay?" kio comes up beside me rubbing my back

i wipe my tears away, "im okay"

"you know you can tell me anything right?" he says with a worried tone

"i know" i play with my fingers

it became quiet for a minute before he spoke up, "its a beautiful painting"

"thank you," i pause before placing my head on his shoulder, "we used to go to the park a lot when we were younger, we would race to the swings but he always wins, that painting was when i finally beat him after i threatened to tell mom that he swore at me" i quietly laugh at the memory

"he seemed like the best brother" he rubs my arm, "and kinda scary"

"he was, he can be scary but he's a big softy once you get to know him" i quietly laugh again.

i wipe my eyes and groan getting up, "let's go somewhere before i cry again" i hold out my hand for kio

he takes it with a smile, "where do you want to go?"

"i don't really know, but you can drive" i toss him my car keys which i took from the top shelf

he catches the keys and jogs towards the door with me wlaking out in front of him

he closes the door behind him and we walk towards my car.

once we were inside, kio admires the interior, "would you look at that! all clean and fully charged" he smiles

it was a mess after the last time i drove it, they must've cleaned it for me as well as my house.

"let's go, take us anywhere you would like pov king" i smile widely which he returns

i lean back on the headrest as he started to back out of the driveway.

this is progress.
