Eventually we get up and go to his car and he drives me home. We were so caught up in what just happened we forgot about the ice cream and by the time we remembered it was melted so I told him I would freeze it and give it to him tomorrow.

He walks me up to my house and kisses me. "Hey, can you promise me one thing?" I ask him as I pull him close. "What's that baby?" "I know it might not be easy, and I know you might not want to burden or bother me but," I hold his arm to my chest.

"If you ever feel alone or down or anything that would make you cut, you call me okay?" He nods. I hold his hand tighter. "I'm serious Kalin. I don't care what I'm doing, I will drop everything and run or catch the bus or something to be there for you because I know how you feel. I was there once and I don't want that happening to you. I.. really like you." I feel a single tear down my cheek. He hugs me and promises me he'll call instead of harming himself.

"Goodnight Kalin." "Goodnight Tobi, I'll text you when I get home." I smile and kiss him one more time before I go in the house. "Tobi!?" I hear a familiar voice. I look out from my porch and there he is. The guy I hadn't thought about all night.

"Asher? What are you doing here?" "No, forget why I'm here. Who is he and what is he doing here?" He answers angrily. "Tobi, I thought you didn't have a boyfriend.." Kalin looks up at me. I can tell he's confused.

"Oh, no no no. Asher isn't my boyfriend. He's my- was my best friend." I explain holding Kalin's hand. "Come on Tobs, don't be like that man. We're still friends. That fight at homecoming was stupid." Asher starts to walk up the porch before I stop him.

"So because you're walking with your tail between your legs, I'm guessing Paisley broke up with you and you thought I would just be okay and forgive how you dumped our whole friend group for some girl that I told you wasn't interested in you?" "Actually, I broke up with her because I realized I lost the best friends I've ever had." 

"I don't care about who broke up with who. You literally punched me in the face in front of everyone for a stupid girl. No one treats their best friend like that." "But I-" "Bye Asher, you can go home now." I try not to look at his face fearful of becoming guilty and give in. I turn to Kalin. "I'm sorry about this whole thing. See you tomorrow?" He nods and walks to his car.

"So, was he your boyfriend or something?" Asher asks me as I start to unlock the door. "It's really none of your business because we aren't friends." I pause. "But if you really must know, yes he is. Goodnight." I walk in the house and lock the door behind me.

I pause in my steps when I see my mother and brother sitting on the couch staring at me. "Oh.. so, did you hear everything that just happened?" They both nod. Mom gets up from the couch. "Tobi, I thought we had an understanding. I thought we were all close enough to talk about things." I look at my little brother. "Okay, maybe not so much him but I though you and me were close?"

"We are," I say as I walk towards the stairs. "So why didn't you tell me about you and Asher not being friends? Or your big fight at homecoming?" "Yeah when he knocked the shit out of you." Ethan cackles. "Ethan!" Mom gives him the death stare. 

"Anyways, I'll get to the boyfriend later because I am really upset that you didn't tell me about him and that you didn't bring him in." I turn around slowly. "You want to meet him?" She gasps. "Of course I would! He's your first boyfriend!" She walks to me and pinches my cheeks.

"Oh, my little Tobias is growing up so fast." She sniffles. "Oh mom, don't cry and please don't pinch my cheeks, you know I bruise easily." She let's my cheeks go. "I'm sorry, I just hate to see my boys be so grown up." She turns to Ethan. "I swear, once you get a girlfriend, and I mean a girl that you're with more that a week, you better bring her to meet me understood."
