Willow was on her way home from school. She usually walked home. It wasn't because she didn't have a car, she just liked to walk and enjoy nature. School was about a 10 minute walk, so she didn't want to waste petrol or money.

The route she took home was safe, as well as her neighborhood. The main reason she enjoyed walking to and from school was due to the fact that she passes a flower shop. The flower shop owner was very nice, and Willow often conversed with the lady on her way. The lady knew both Willow and Oliver. Both the siblings saw her as a mother figure, and she saw them as her own children. The lady, Miss Anne, was an old lady, but she takes care of herself well. Miss Anne always tries to stop by their house to check up on them. They even started having dinners together every once in a while.

Passing the flower shop, Willow greeted Miss Anna, just like she does everyday.

However, today was different. A few minutes after she passed the shop, Willow heard a groan. It was coming from the park that Willow always passed. The park was empty, but she decided to check it out. Maybe the person needed help.

Upon walking to the park, she saw Maxwell, who was injured. He was holding his stomach, which was slightly bleeding, he also had some bruises on his face and knuckles. Willow quickly rushed to him, while pulling out a first aid kit in her backpack.

Maxwell didn't say anything as he was too out of it to notice. However, he reeked of alcohol. Nonetheless, Willow aided his cuts and bruises. After a while, she was finished. Maxwell seemed to have sobered up, and realized what had happened because he was soon to snap at Willow.

"Get the hell away from me. I do not need your help. You're everywhere I go. Can't you just stay the fuck away from me? It's not that fucking hard." Maxwell said in anger.

The main cause to his outburst was because his heart always skipped a beat when he lays eyes on her. He didn't want anything to do with her. He didn't want these feelings.

That's why he was drinking. He couldn't stop thinking about Willow. She clouded his thoughts, and he had enough of it, so he turned to alcohol. He got drunk, and wanting to forget about her was the opposite that happened. Willow could not get out of his head. Ever since that party, she was always on his mind. He had gotten irritated to the point where he decided to leave his house. He ended up at the park, and picked up a fight with some random dude. Since he was drunk, he wasn't able to give the boy many hits, resulting in him being more injured.

Willow felt hurt hearing Maxwell say that. She was just being a kind person, helping him. "You were hurt. I wanted to help you." Replied the girl, softly.

Maxwell felt a pain shoot right through his heart when he noticed his words had hurt Willow. He wanted nothing more than for her to be happy.

However, he didn't show that he felt bad. "I don't fucking need your help. Leave me alone." Maxwell did feel bad for being harsh on her, but he didn't want any feelings for the girl in front of him.

"I'm sorry." Willow said, walking away. She felt sad. Sad because she was just being a kind person who wanted to help him. Yet he pushed her off, and was harsh to her.

Maxwell was extremely angry. Not at Willow, but at himself. Regret was the only word he could think of that he was feeling. He hated seeing her sad. He didn't even know her, yet he knew that deep down, he wanted to give her everything just to see her happy and smile. Of course, he quickly shook the thought off. He was a stubborn man. When he sworn off to love, he was serious about avoiding everything that involved relationships.

Despite the fact that Maxwell was rude to Willow, she still hoped that he was okay. She wanted his bruises to heal properly. She wanted him to be safe. She prayed that he made it back home safely.

...

Willow made it home safely. Just as she arrived, her brother was on his way to The Oasis for a fight that had been planned for while. She quickly bid him a goodbye.

Willow wished her and Oliver had more time to hang out, just the both of them. Oliver was busy with fights and college. He was in his fourth of college, he was studying business. He had always wanted to open up his own restaurant. Plus, Willow and their mother always told Oliver how much of a good cook he was. Their mother also had secret family dishes. Oliver wanted to build a restaurant where he would serve his mother's best dishes, in order to keep her memories alive. He wanted to represent his mother. Oliver was proud to be able to call himself her son.

Since Oliver was always either too busy with college, or busy with fighting, the siblings never had any time to hang out together. The only time they had to catch up was during dinner time and sometimes on the weekends. Oliver's job resulted him to be able to support the both of them, and he made more than enough. However, he still had college tuitions to pay off, and he also had been saving up for Willow's college funds. They were both very responsible with their money. The money Oliver made was enough for them to live a luxurious and rich life, but luxuries and wealth meant nothing to them. They wanted to keep living on what their mother taught them, and their mother taught them that they don't need money to be happy. What's important is that they have each other.

Their mother grew up living in a poor family, so she was taught to be humble and responsible. After having her two children, she struggled with money, she was busy saving up for her children's futures. This caused her husband to leave. He was tired of struggling. He wanted money, so he left them for some rich lady. After she had passed away, the money she had saved was given to the siblings.

What caused their mother to make sure her children were humble was because her mother saw how money teared families apart, just like it did them, but it was not in the way she was talking about. She noticed how people tend to throw money at everything. Money also clouded many people's thoughts that all they could think about was the new car or outfit that just came out. She also noticed that some people were so blood thirty for money that they would betray their own family and do anything just for expensive items.

Willow being home alone for the rest of the day, she decided to do her homework and make dinner.

For dinner, she decided to make shrimp Alfredo. She prepared and boiled the noodles, as well as cut up the shrimp. She included their mother's secret Alfredo sauce, and added parsley.

As soon as she finished, Oliver came home. They both ate and talked, catching up and conversing about their day. Oliver noticed his sister looked down, so he asked if she was okay. Willow debated whether she should tell him about Maxwell or not. Oliver knew about what happened with Everett, and he went ape shit. He was about to beat him to a pulp, but Willow stopped him before he could.

Willow decided to tell him later on. She doubted that she would see Maxwell ever again. So she settled on telling him that she just had a busy day at school.

Oliver had a feeling that she was lying, but he could tell that she didn't want to talk about it, so he left it alone for now.

It's almost winter break, but I'm so done with high school. I'm a sophomore btw

I have given up on school, I never wake up on time for class, and I'm failing English and I failed my geometry test today.

I swear, I'm not bad at math, but the questions made no sense. They were like "if B is the midpoint of AC and they are collinear, what is the measure of BD"

The questions made me lose brain cells, but I felt better when I learned that my friends failed as well

But I hope you enjoyed this chapter x
