𝖤𝗇𝗃𝗈𝗒!

Tina wiped away a tear.

Casey patted her back.

Their parents were such lovely people.

Their mother was a beautiful, intelligent, sweet and genuine woman.

Their father was fun, handsome, powerful, and humorous.

They were the perfect family.

When their father passed away, their mother went insane without him.

She got drunk and abused them.

Casey raised Tina as a child herself.

And she always protected her.

And when their mother grew ill from her alcohol problem, they weren't surprised.

She was in critical condition so they were sent to an orphanage.

It was truly scaring.

They couldn't believe their luck.

At least they got to keep their belongings.

The house was theirs.

Their father left it to both of them, not his wife.

Perhaps he knew much in advance what his wife would do to his beloved children.

It was hard, remembering it now.

After Tina and Casey's mother, Anna, recovered they were taken from the orphanage.

Anna promised to do better.

To be better to her girls.

They all hugged.

And everything was ok for a few months.

But then she met Arcadia's dad.

Before their father had passed, Arcadia's family had met theirs.

Both parties were hoping for a future marriage.

Casey and Eadward.

But then Anna's husband passed.

Arcadia's father and Anna had an affair.

When Anna had told them this, Casey immediately packed her bags.

She had just finished Hogwarts.

She was now working in the ministry.

She moved out to live near there instead.

She couldn't bear that her own mother was ruining another mother and children's lives.

Anna used to be so sweet.

Casey's favourite.

She loved her mother.

But after she was so willing to impose on Arcadia's family like that, Casey grew disgusted.

There was a huge fight.

Casey called her mother a slut and a skank.

Her mother had screamed and cried.

Anna had asked for comfort from Titainia but Casey had raised Tina.

Titainia had asked to go with Casey but Casey had shook her head.

"I'm sorry Titi, I don't have enough money. If I move to dad's house ma will find me. I need to go now. To the wizarding world."

Tina had tears streaking down her cheeks, making Casey's heart pang.

She croached down and gave her a hug.

"I love you. I promise I'll find you again."

Now, in present time Casey was hanging out with Tina.

She had casually brought up Anna.

And Tina grew confused to where her loyalties lay.

It was hard to think about.

What her mother had done to them and Arcadia's family.

Without a grain of remorse.

But because she was her mother, she couldn't be mad.

And that made her more mad.

She wanted to hate her mother but she felt she couldn't.

She wished she could have her own place rather than living with Arcadia's family.

They weren't her family and they never would be.

She loved Arcadia.

She was a great sister.

But they could never be as close as Casey and her.

There was a rich and sweet smell filling the room.

"Titi, remember when we made cookies with anything we found in the house? And we had dad try to guess what it was?" Casey asked, kissing her forehead fondly.

They both remembered the sweet and wholesome memories.

But they were fading away.

"How about we make a better flavour this time?" She offered the spoon to her younger sister.

"Are we leaving this for Santa? And leaving a little quiz so he can figure out what we poisoned him with?" Tina cackled, remembering that that was exactly what they did.

She rolled up her sleeves and got to work.

Hours passed by, they had made the most delicious toffee cookies ever.

They toasted to eachother with their glasses of milk.

"Let's do this every Christmas."

"Hell yeah."

Signing off, Rose.
