Josie slipped in the door of her room,
She knew it'd be dinnertime soon.
She and Gyn had spent the afternoon
Watching Lucas and Leanna Order.
The sweet twins' parents had errands to run,
Cuddling the twins was lots of fun.
And Josie needed it after the shock she received.
That Sallie McClain was staying in BG.
And Jacob was acting strangely.
Why had he allowed Sallie to stay?
Carried her bags, didn't make her go away?
Talked like it was no big deal too?
And getting married was what they planned to do?
Jacob was going to marry Sallie and raise a family?
With the woman, he hadn't seen,
In two whole years?
Josie didn't know all that happened between Sallie and Jake,
But he often told her it'd been a mistake.
And Josie was too young to know anyhow,
But she was older and wiser now.
She could put more pieces together than she had back then,
And it wasn't a pretty picture she was forming.
Sallie pretended to be nice and sweet
But she had a mean streak.
She had often complained that Josie got too much of Jake's time.
Her moods seemed to change on a dime.
To Jacob, Sallie had often been unkind.
But Josie didn't have too much time to ponder it
Because on Josie's bed the woman did sit. And next to her was Jacob's box,
Only now it had a lock.
She gave Josie a sweet smile.
