Give up?

Here we stand 6 feet apart,
I grasp the air in which you once stood,
I hope we will be again,

My chest pains,
So does my brain I seemed to have smoked away,
You're very face that's like a vase,
With this distance we can't stand in our arms or hand in hand,

Corona virus is what they called,
It's in the halls and doesn't fall,
Gets us when we are at a low,
And brings down our every hope,

Closed that store on Corner st,
I wonder where else I'll eat,
Walking down the block was so easy,
Hah! Not today at least for me,
Masks are required...,
As if this generation didn't already teach us that we shouldn't show our face,
Insecurities grow just like mold but once it's holds it won't let go,
They'll like me if I hide my face! But
Show me your face one will always say?
Maybe another day?
Is that okay?
I can wait... or so at least I will state,
6 feet!! I don't want a disease,
But baby I'm healthy as can be *cough cough*
Can't you see?
We break the hearts of those we claim to love,
We do this because... COVID 19?
Maybe if we all could see things as they be
We would all be happy, healthy and free as can be.
