IT WAS FAR INTO THE NIGHT, NEARLY THREE IN THE MORNING, AND VEDA HAD JUST FINISHED PREP FOR HER NEXT SEMESTER. As she was turning off her monitor, going through her tabs, she happened to see Discord open. Eyes barely able to keep themselves awake, she wrapped her sweatshirt tighter around her body and went through her notifications.

When she clicked on Sapnap's server, she scrolled through the messages, then saw none other than the man himself alone in a voice channel. Hesitantly, she threw on her headset and joined.

"Veda? What are you doing up?" Sapnap muttered. It almost sounded like someone else; his voice was altered deeper thanks to the lack of sleep.

"I could as you the same thing. Why are you here alone, loser?" she mocked, swiping the layered hair out of her eyes.

"George just left, and I was about to log off. Just practicing MCC parkour. No need for the insults, pissrag."

"Pissrag? That's a new one."

He chuckled, quietly.

"So catch me up on you. We were friends back then, but I never knew anything about you," he demanded. Veda's head tilted.

"You first, Mr. Clout."

"What's there to know? You already know what I look like. I'm a nineteen year old computer science major. I live in Houston, Texas and...I have pets? I don't know what else to say."

Veda snickered. "Worst fear?"

Quick to reply, he muttered, "Being alone; my friends leaving me. Now tell me about yourself, mysterious ass."

Veda's heart warmed up, energy flowing into her brain that awakened her a bit.

"Ok, fine. My name is Veda. My middle name is Josephine. I use she/her pronouns and they/them pronouns, so if you hear me addressed like that, you know why. I live in New Orleans. I have a ten year old sister named Jamie, and I'm allergic to bunnies. I've been gaming since I was twelve and I have a cat named Lucifer. But we call him Lucky."

Sapnap nodded, a grin in his voice. "Sweet. What do you look like?"

"Stalker energy," she joked.

"What?! I'm not a stalker. You don't have to say anything you're not comfortable with."

"Ok, fine. I'm a brunette, and I have green eyes. My hair is naturally really wavy and I've been told I have the build of a field hockey player. I don't know what that means, but whatever."
