Beck watched his girlfriend hunched over her notebook she used to write quick notes that cane to her head for her new script on his bright orange couch

Lately she had been working on a new script- not for a class or any academic reason like extra credit to bump up a mark but because she was trying to break in to the world of directing and script writing for the future and her desired career choice

She was hoping to bring it to lane in the next day or so and get his permission to perform it for only one night for a small performance in the black box on a Saturday night

She couldn't care less how many people came to see it or whether they liked it, she just wanted the experience of directing and having to write a whole script that would actually be performed

Sure she had written lots of scripts for classes-everyone at Hollywood arts had but before she never paid them much attention, never needed to work out all the finer details and never worried too much if something appeared to not work the way she'd intended. But now since it was going to be shown and acted out everything needed to be perfect

"Hey j?" He called from his bed where he was sitting on his pear book waiting for jade to come and sit with him

"Busy!" She called in an obvious voice not even raising her head from her notebook

"Hey that's not very nice" he pouted jutting our his bottom lip and bit and crossing his arms like a child

"Beck I only said I'm busy, not that I wanna break up" she replied Coolly finally looking up and rolling her eyes only to see him let out a fake gasp of offence

"Jeez no need to threaten a break up, I just wanted to know if you were staying with me tonight"

"Of course babe, I just gotta finish up this last scene then I need you to proofread it then I need to too then I'll be done" she sighed frustratedly

Beck made a sad face at her but leaned back on his headboard to wait for her like he had been before she

Once she was done the last scene she threw her book becks way to read it over quickly before she scanned it over a couple times then finally tucked it away into her gears of war bag sitting on the floor leaning against the couch

"Ok can we cuddle now?" He asked reaching or his arms towards her

"Really beck? That's what you were waiting for this whole time?"

He didn't respond her just kept holding his arms out to her

"Fine beck."

"Do you think lane will like it?" She asked nervously looking up at him as she lay in his arms

"Hm?"

"Do you think lane will like well wishes?"

"I think he will" he replied nonchalantly

"But what if he doesn't" she asked with even more nerve in her voice than before

"Baby he'll have to like it" he said turning to face Her and look her in the eyes sincerely "it's perfect and you worked so hard to make sure everything would work, you put in so much effort it's hard not to like it"

"You sure?"

"I'm sure, it's great" he replied placing a sweet kiss on her head

"Soooo how'd it go?" He asked as she got into his truck after asking lane about her play

Jade didn't say anything but beck could tell by her body language it hadn't gone well

"Cmon j talk to me" he said after sitting in silence for a few minutes

"Fine beck he said that it was bad ok!" She yelled with her voice breaking a bit

"What?" He asked looking shocked and slightly sad

He knew how important this play was for her so for lane to say this was not helping anything

"Look jade I'm really sorry, I still think it's great"

"Well you're opinion doesn't matter in this situation does it" she snapped "it's useless"

Beck stayed quiet and started up the car for the drive home which was also silent

When they got home they both got out and walked into his RV where he pulled her into a tight hug resting his chin atop her head

It was quiet but so meaningful
