May 1989: On the morning of her twenty-fourth birthday, Cambria Nickson realizes she craves change in her life. She packs up her bags and moves across the country to the west coast in a town call Pine Hills, where she knows nobody, and nobody knows her. It's a fresh start, and everything she's desired. Little does she know that this move will be the catalyst for the rest of her life and will change her forever.
While getting acquainted with the town, she meets Jackson Harding, and the two becomes fast friends. But as with most male/female friendships, things get complicated - fast. Cambria soon begins to question everything between her and Jackson, which propels her life forward into unpredictable circumstances that Cambria could have never predicted.
In this coming-of-age tale, Cambria learns an array of life lessons that will shape who she becomes as a person, and in the end, she must make a decision: follow her head, or her heart.
