– not me almost breaking 1k for the first time on something this poorly written.

mark's eyes narrowed as he noticed his older members surround you, annoyance spreading from within him at the laughs that erupted from the group in front of him.

"guys, shouldn't we be practicing or something? y/n, why are you even here?" mark snapped at you, his dislike for you obvious as you simply smirked at him.

mark had disliked you since the day he had met you. he had been a trainee at sm for a couple of months when you arrived, immediately stealing his spotlight.

you were now the popular new trainee, talented in almost every department and pretty on top of that. mark could not have asked for a worse competitor, a pretty girl who knew what she wanted and how to get it.

you, on the other hand, actually really liked mark. you thought the guy was cute, his glares at you only making your heart flutter every time you caught them.

now, a newly debuted girl group member, you sat in the middle of a circle of nct members, excitedly chatting with them after having crashed their practice session.

"what's wrong mark? scared i'll steal your memebers' love like i did your fans?" you teased, giggling at his scowl. oh, how you loved crawling under this boy's skin.

"whatever, i'm going back to the dorms if we're done here," he stood up, walking out of the practice room doors and walking straight to his dorm like he said.

"y'know he likes you right? he just doesn't know how to express it," johnny spoke to you in english. you smirked as you stood up from your spot, stretching to begin your dancing lessons as the rest of the boy group walked out.

the next time you saw mark wasn't for a couple of months, both of you being busy with your group activities and practices after that.

you had bumped into him after a vocal lesson with your group, accidentally slamming into his shoulder and falling onto the ground.
mark couldn't help but laugh at you, your clumsiness resulting in his joy.

you scowled up at the boy as you stood up, making sure he saw your glare. "y'know you don't have to be a dick all of the time!" you muttered to yourself as you turned to walk away to your dance practice.

mark felt something stir inside of him at your words, as much as he hated to admit it — he felt bad that he laughed at you. "yo! y/n wait!" mark yelled out after you, following behind you.

mark panicked as he saw you begin to run through the sm building walls, trying to get away from him as quickly as you could. before you could reach out to open the practice room door, mark pushed himself to run in front of it, blocking your hand from touching the handle and instead touching his firm torso.

you couldn't help but blush at the sudden contact, not expecting him to do that.

"y/n hold on, i wanted to apologize," mark let out, breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath.

"and what? you expect me to accept it after the way you've treated me?" it was mark's turn to frown, "are you seriously going to act like you haven't also treated me poorly? you treat me like shit every time we're around my members! it's like it's your goal to embarrass me every time you get!" mark yelled at you.

you couldn't deny it, you knew you did everything he had just accused you of. all you could do was stay quiet, staring at the ground.

you felt bad as you realized that mark had followed you to finally apologize to you after you had also been an asshole to him this entire time. looking up to meet his gaze you stuck out your hand, "i'm sorry too."

mark felt his eyes go wide at your words. you were saying sorry? to him? "what?"

"i'm sorry too!" you said as you threw your hands up in the air looking away from him, "i realized just how mean i had been to you for no reason! so i'm sorry."

"um, thank you, then," mark said, unsure if you were just tricking him, "i-i'll get going now." he said as he cleared his nose, slightly embarrassed all of a sudden.

as mark began to walk away he felt your hand grab his own, "hey, um, do you maybe wanna get some lunch later on? maybe we can try to be friends?"

you hadn't noticed how you were still holding mark's hand until he nervously squeezed yours, "oh! sorry about that!" you let go, your cheeks turning red.

"yeah, that sounds nice, i'll see you around one?" mark asked, sticking his hands in his pockets. "yeah, i'll see you then."

as you stretched in front of the mirror your group mate, karina, made her way into the practice room. "y/n! what did you do to mark?" she asked, slightly laughing as she hugged you from behind, staring at you from the mirror. "what are you talking about rina? i didn't do anything this time."

"i ran into him in the hall, he couldn't stop blabbing on about how you two are meeting up for lunch! i could've sworn i saw a blush on him too–" "ahh! no! shut up karina, you will not start with this again! you and johnny are the exact same person!"
