Part 1.

I take the last puff of my cigar and throw it on the ground, stomping on it. I saw a bodyguard giving me a dirty look for doing so, but it ain't my fault there's no bin or anything so i have to throw my dirty cigar on this luxury estate in Texas.

Damn, it's hot in Texas, and I'm wearing a black dress.

I huff, walking into the big house.
Matteo was sitting on an armchair and opposite of him was one of his bussines partners, tycoon Bill Popkins and his daughter Jennifer Popkins
On each side of Popkins family were their bodyguards that in all honesty looked like a joke. They were dressed like cowboys. Yes I know it's Texas and all, but is that even a thing now?
I stand next to Bruno, our second in charge and the biggest idiot to walk the earth.

'Howdy cowboys' I say, failing miserably at Texas accent.

Matteo shot me a warning look and i sent him a full smile grin. But i didn't miss his lips going upwards for a short second.

'Bill, this is Scarlett. Scarlett this is Bill and his daughter Jennifer' Matteo said
'Nice to meet you Scarlett. I trust you to take good care of my daughter ' Bill said and in response I saluted him. That earned me a smile and he continued to talk to Matteo.

'He better not trust Teo with her virginity' i whispered to Bruno and he barely covered a laugh.
'Don't be ridiculous, She's looks like she lost hers a long time ago' He whispered back to me. But to be honest, it wasn't far away from truth.

'Yeah, with her uncle' I responded and this time he couldn't hold his laugh and Matteo glared at us.

'I would really appreciate it if you stop your comedy show Scarlett. We're talking here' He said sternly, not even turning around, but if he did, he would be glaring at me.
'yes, sir' I say, deciding to stop because he's not im the best mood today amd i really do not want to anher him.

I do admit that it was rude, judging Jennifer by her looks, I was joking around.

After 15 minutes of talking, they finally made a deal. Matteo would protect Jennifer and hunt down Victor, and in return Bill will give him 50% of his company. And that was a lot.
Matteo didn't need any money, but Bill insisted.

Jennifer and her father said their goodbye and we were on our way.
I, of course, called a shotgun.

Jenifer and Bruno were at the backseat and Teo was driving.

I could hear Jennifer's soft sobs as we were driving away from her home.
I remember the time when my father and I came to Matteos father for protection. My father was ready to do just about everything just to keep me safe. I miss my father.
I started playing with my pinky finger. My father would always play with it ever since I was little. And every time I miss him i would play with it, hoping I would remember how his touch felt.
Matteo noticed my sudden change in mood so he took my pinky in his giant hand.
That made me immediately relaxed, because i know, even though my father is gone, i won't ever be alone next to Matteo.

'So, where will I be staying?' Jenifer asks, clearing silence.
'Mafia house' Bruno responded, swiping right and left on his phone.
Timder again.
'Mafia house?' She asks
'We live there. 15 other people alongside maids. Matteo's office is there so all the important employees live there' He explained it to her.
'oh. Okay' she says quietly.
'don't worry you will be safe. Scarlett can give you a tour' Bruno replied amd she nodded.
'so, who are we protecting her from?' I ask, pretending not to know because I shouldn't know. I overheated Matteo talking on the phone the other day with Bill.
'you will not be protecting anyone, you will ne in your room like a good girl you are. My man and I however have to keep Victor away' He says. Olay, still not in a better mood. Giess this Texas air is not good for him. But neither is any other air, when i think about it.
'Oh, haven't seen him in a while' i say truthfully. Victor isn't really my biggest fan. Last time we saw each other I shot him.
'and it's going to stay that way' he replied. Matteo hates Victor. Full on hates him.
' the guy went nuts from all the drugs. He rapes every girl he sees. He tried to rape Jenifer last week nut she escaped. Been after her since ' Bruno said. Oh, so that's the problem.

'when we get him, we'll let you chop his Spanish dick off ' I say to Jenifer and she shyly chuckles.

Soon, we boarded on Matteo's jet amd we were on our way home.

Home, I smile at the thought.
