The more time passed, the more Jake and I settled into our daily routine. Since Jake had already graduated from school and college wasn't in the picture for him, he would wait for me after school and we would visit Scott at his job. In between we would go to the beach, hang out with the pack and learn more and more about the rich history of the tribe and the shapeshifters. At the end of my last class, my heart would quicken with anticipation of seeing Jake propped against his charming truck with his arms crossed his chest, with a witty comment about me being a nerd and being in school all day. My mind swirled as I went through this scene a thousand times in my head before our scheduled meeting. I smiled to myself as Mrs.Paulson approached my desk and handed me a packet of papers.

"Seems like you learned a lot at your time on the reservation, amazing job Y/N!" Mrs.Paulson exclaimed in her sing-song voice. I took a look at the packet and glanced at my grade, 100% I noted with a smile on my face. Not too bad for falling in love with a werewolf I thought and chuckled to myself. Mrs.Paulson began rambling on about the final study guide and my mind began thinking of Jake once again. I slightly jumped at the sound of the bell, and almost in an instant, I was out the door with a quick wave to my teacher. I cooly drifted past my peers and exchanged a few casual "bye's" and "see you laters" with my acquaintances when I reached the steel door to the back parking lot. Right when I locked eyes with Jacob, I knew something was wrong. His whole demeanor and expression was rigid as a board, as if he could phase at the drop of a pin. I quickly walked over to him when he embraced me in a defensive manner. I whispered in his ear,

"Jake, what the hell is wrong?" I whispered, worriedly

"They're here." He stated, "I need to get you out of here."

"Who's here Jake?" I looked in his eyes.

"The vampires. They go to your school." I darted my eyes, looking around for anyone who didn't look familiar. Everyone casually strolling around the parking lot were the same students I had been seeing for the past four years.

"I don't see anyone new." I stated

"They're here, I can smell them" He looked at me intensely and opened the car door. In an instant we were down the road in the direction of the coffee shop. I tried to lighten the mood with mundane school talk but Jacob was in full wolf mode, probably communicating with the pack through his thoughts. We pulled in the coffee shop parking lot and let myself out, when Jake looked too engrossed in his own thoughts to even open the door. The comforting chime of the bells alerted the baristas of my presence. I spotted Scott brewing up some concoction of drinks as I approached the workstation.

"Scotty! Where were you in Chem today? I missed you babes!" I exclaimed to him while we embraced.

"Holy shit, Y/N, remember when we were freshmen and we wanted to be like the most popular people in school so we signed up for all of those clubs thinking they would make us popular?" Scott rambled on, waving his hands around like a lunatic,

"Scotty, how could I forget, you signed up for like ten thousand clubs." I chuckled while putting my bag down.

"Well, one of them was a new student orientation club, and like there hasn't been any new students in like 3 years but today, I finally hit the lottery, or gold, or EVERYTHING!" Scott began fanning himself like he was hot, even though it was literally 48 degrees.

"What happened!" I smiled.

"There are these new students, and they are, oh my god, the most gorgeous family you have ever fucking seen Y/N, I mean, what the actual fuck is going on here! I almost passed out, they are some gorgeous people!" Scott was completely in awe. Before I could ask anymore questions, Jake busted through the door,
