"Oh?" Dot replied cheerfully

You appreciated her positive attitude but unfortunately, this wasn't the time for positivity.

"We need to talk," You replied stoically

Dot furrowed her brows in confusion as she looked towards Herb. Giving a shrug of his shoulders, Dot looked back to you questioning,

"Oh? What about?"

"Back at the commission said that the only way to get things back to the way they were was to return the original timeline. Not return to our original time." You stated

"Oh did I? Must've been a slip of the tongue." Dot replied nervously

"That timeline isn't this one, is it?" You questioned, already knowing the answer

"Well..." Dot said hesitantly, looking off to the side

Her lack of immediate response was all that you needed. You and the rest of the Hargreeves had messed up the timeline.

"Dot, don't lie to me. I mean...look around." You said gesturing to all the dead bodies "This timeline has been irreparably tainted by our presence. All of our presences. This isn't even the butterfly effect, this is a hurricane and right now we're in the eye of it."

Herb looked around to see if anyone was close by, specifically Diego and Five. If they managed to hear or figure this out there would be hell to pay at an already shambling commission. Seeing the two guys far away arguing over which briefcase to use Herb turned back to you and in a hushed voice said,

"Listen (Y/N), you're absolutely correct but at this moment Dot and I don't know how to fix that," Herb interjected

"I do." You stated

The two of them looked at each other before bringing their attention back to you. They were confused but also intrigued. Silently, they waited for you to go on.

"I know how to fix the timeline," You explained, "but I'm going to need your help."

"What do you need?" Herb asked

"A briefcase to April 1st, 2019 at 7 pm, but it has to take me to the original timeline before any of us were here." You stated, "A syringe with 2-milliliters of epinephrine, and a favor from your metaphysics department."

"I- I'm not sure we have briefcases that can do that," Herb replies nervously

"You're the organization that runs outside of time. Figure it out." You command firmly

"So what are you going to do?" Dot questioned

"All you need to know is that I'm going to set things right. Now take each of these things to the metaphysics department. Do not lose them. When you have everything just drop it off behind the barn and whatever you do, don't tell Five or Diego." You answered

Dot and Herb looked at each other, concern crossing both their faces. Maybe they were putting the pieces you had laid out in place, maybe they just thought you had gone off the rails. It didn't matter either way. Solemnly they both looked back at you and nodded. Grabbing their briefcase you watched as they turned around before flashing away. You stood in place for a second your mind in an empty trance before you laid down in the grass and looked at the sky. The orange glow of the setting sun washed over you as you thought about what you had planned. As you looked at the sky you heard a voice call from behind you,

"What are you doing?"

Looking towards the voice you saw your boyfriend standing there. With his hands in his pockets and an amused smile on his face, he looked down at you. Oh, how he adored you. Even the simplest of things like watching the sunset seemed beautiful when you did them.
