The remainder of the day Classic had spent alone. He sat in the library, perched on the circular windows interior ledge. The sun hovered low in the sky, casting orange and reds along the approaching night. The sight was breathtaking for Classic, a first as well. Locked in a guild with far too many trees left him desiring such beauty. The world was a wonderous place and the couple days he was free to roam, those facts became a undeniable truth.

While lost in the view, he couldn't help but think back to Papyrus. His brother was alone, resting in the hands of a father Classic hated more than anything. Even Red wasn't at the top of his dislike list, which would shock most. Each time Classic thought about his brother, he couldn't help but fear the worst. Gaster was cruel without a doubt and once word spread to his reach that Classic had betrayed them, he would gladly seek his head for a reward to the assassin who succeeded. Truth was, Gaster knew Classic's abilities. There weren't many who were capable to take on Classic, and those who could were somewhat close to him. Of all the assassins Classic would fear, Epic was the assassin with the greatest odds in a fair fight. Fighting dirty, that's a whole new ballgame. Classic stuck by a fair fight, no matter how unbalanced everything was. If everything was stacked against him, so be it. He would rather die true to himself, than play such cheap tricks that may not even prevail.

"Classic?" A soft voice stirred the assassin from his mind as he faced his newest guest in the room. Those familiar golden wings caught the sunset just right as he hovered beside the window. Classic felt almost envious of the wings. Too many times Classic stumbled or fell merely because the highest places were the safest in his view. "May I join you?"

Sliding more on the tilt of the window ledge, he watched as Dream slid before him. His wings folded around him, feet pressed to the soles of Classic's as the multi colored sockets faced the same view Classic had stared at minutes prior. He found a wave of relief wash over him once silence fell over both. Classic had found himself basking in the lack of noise. Lack of everything that could possibly alter his already diminishing mood. Even so, Classic's mind was speaking volumes. The loud voices of his consciousness were threatening a headache each time the racket pursued when worry crested his thoughts.

Deciding to change his focus, he found his gaze falling onto the gentle expression that traced Dream. His face was crested into a weak smile, almost as if laced in a saddened tone. It drew questions as well as worries, but Classic discarded such actions. He was curious about the ruler, along with everything he had said thus far. Never, in the couple days, had Dream's offer made a lick of sense. It was suicide and the royal was aware, yet still made such choices. What had Classic done or could have offered to create such a chance at his freedom? It felt so fake, as if a false reality to shield the fact that death was lurking around each corner for the assassin.

Normally death was a small issue for assassins. They are raised to kill. Murder. Steal. Even lie. Remorse was never something an assassin could feel, let alone the lingering feelings bubbling inside Classic's soul. Two days and he found himself drawn so strongly toward the first people to welcome him without troubles. He never had a family, at least not a real one. Feeling welcomed and loved was new and it honestly terrified Classic. Being alone was his natural state, but now; every night felt endless and painful whenever he was in his room away from the kindness that seeped from the newfound friends. It left him yearning for it, as if a drug he couldn't quite rid himself of.

Those positive feelings always drew his mind back to the figure before him. The sunset's glow casting an almost angelic glimmer to the already bright appearance. Dream had been the first one to break his soul free. The first to make him stutter and feel so vulnerable, in a good way. Sure, Gaster was capable of making Classic feel helpless. But the feeling was different. Gaster's was based on fear and a knowledge of the difference in abilities. With Dream, it was as if his soul wouldn't allow a single ounce of strength to rise to the surface when faced with the towering skeleton. Their brief interactions had affected Classic more than he would have loved to admit. Truth was, he knew the feelings lingering in his soul were love; or at least something similar. It left so many questions lingering around in the back of his mind, threatening to drive him to act stupidly upon them. He was grateful for the care the royals offered, but feared speaking his mind and shattering all that was built. He lived dancing around his fears and avoiding them at all costs, but he was in the middle of the biggest one. Having friends only brought heartache. If one day someone in his group were to die, it would hurt. He held the rule of 'no friends' high above him because he feared the pain it offered if one day he were witness his 'friends' death before his very gaze. He was prideful, but never to the point to not admit his own fears.

"You've been awfully quiet Classic. Mind telling me what's on your mind?" Classic stirred from his staring to notice Dream's gaze had shifted entirely. Those multi sockets met his gaze before a warming smile nearly forced Classic's body to tremble. He felt so weak in Dream's presence, something he wasn't quite used to.

"I was merely thinking of the offer, nothing more." Dream nodded slowly as he spoke louder than before, confidence etched into his tone.

"I meant my words Classic. I truly seek your freedom and know the cost. When you mentioned your brother, I almost hesitated on the idea. Family is important, something I understand better than most. As a note, I don't wish to risk your brother's life unless you truly want a way out."

"You said this job was worth money, but please be honest. It was more of a setup, wasn't it?" There was a drawn out silence before Dream nodded, confirming Classic's words. "Why request such an impossible task?"

"Truth was, it was part of the plan. I've my own reasons to be looking to strike the guild down for good, Classic. They took something from me in the past and when I heard the story about you, I felt hopeful. Maybe, just maybe I could finally get the pieces I was missing and be able to obliterate the guild once and for all. This world doesn't need assassins Classic, it needs to be left to the people. Assassins work for money, dying the streets red each day. I want peace, more than anything. When I learned you had accepted, I truly desired the chance at revenge. My brother is not so different from me. He too seeks retribution on the guild. On the master as well. The biggest problem was that only assassins held information valuable to us."

"So you wanted me to give you 'said' information."

"Exactly. I personally don't dislike my brother, like I claimed earlier. He was simply pushed down a very different path. Killing him is not my intent, even if that was the deal." Classic nodded as he felt a sigh slip from him. "It might be pushy of me to ask, but I really want to know what your answer is."

"..." Classic remained silent as he watched out the window. "If I do this, you have to tell me the plan entirely and I need to contact someone. I personally need this person to do me a favor, one that guarantees my willingness to aid you."

"Does it have to do with you brother?" Nodding, Dream fell silent as he thought it through. A partial smile formed on his features as he spoke once more. "If it gives me the chance to strike the guild, I am game. Just tell me what it is that needs to be done."

"I'll tell you tomorrow, along with Ink."

"Not Blue?" Classic shook his head before speaking quietly.

"I was pretty observant on the fact he was wasn't involved in all this. So, it will remain us three." Dream nodded before he noticed Classic move slightly. The smaller skeleton changed positions, his hands moving the wings long enough for him to sit on Dream's lap and lean into the comfort his chest offered.

"Wha..."

"It's warm here, so let me sleep for a bit." Dream fell silent as his arms moved around Classic's frame, holding him close as his wings wrapped once more around them both. Classic let out a slight hum as soft snoring filled the current silence as Classic drifted off. There was no denying the fluttering in Dream's soul as he watched Classic. The assassin played with his emotions unlike anyone else. Even so, he liked the constant joy whenever he was in Classic's presence. It had been so long since he had fallen for someone so heavily. Breathing out a short sentence, he drifted off himself while assuring Classic remain safe in his grasp.

'To think I've fallen in love once more. Such a cruel fate indeed.' Unknown to Dream, Classic had overheard. What exactly had those words meant? It left Classic desiring to know more about Dream as a whole, to understand why he spoke in such a saddened tone with those words.
