Did you ever hear of him?
Him, who was given a bird
Him, who grew to love that bird
Him, who then had to watch the bird be killed
Him, who then was told
That he had to tame the bird and not love it?
From that day on
He made sure not to give his heart away
Because he thought he knew the price of love
That bird and his master had taught him a lesson
That love was a weapon which could destroy more than any blade
And he believed it. He believed all of it.
That's how he came about
To give his body away and never his heart
Because he was taught
That to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.
